Cristina Maltez

We are pleased to spotlight our client, Change is Simple (CiS), a Beverly-based nonprofit organization transforming climate education with a "Planet Positive" approach. For 16 years, CiS has provided fun, hands-on learning experiences to public elementary and middle schools in the Boston area through their "Sustainability & Climate Innovation Learning Lab" (SCiLL). This program helps students see themselves as part of the solution, promoting lasting engagement with STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering, and Mathematics).

The impact of CiS is significant:

- Students who participate in their programs choose STEM majors at twice the national average and pursue environmental careers at nine times the national average.

- Over 90% of participants share what they learn with their families, fostering a sense of community stewardship.

Recognized with the 2025 American Climate Leadership Award, CiS aims to increase its budget from $1.5 million to $2 million to reach 2 million students.

Join them on May 20th for the Spring Fundraising Event at Connemara Farm in Topsfield. By supporting Change is Simple, you are investing in a future generation that is prepared, inspired, and committed to a planet-positive future.

We are pleased to feature Cristina Maltez in our Spring Newsletter. As a valuable member of our Personal Lines department, she provides excellent customer service through clear communication, prompt support, and a genuine commitment to protecting clients when they need it most.

Cristina grew up in a loving home on the outskirts of Rio de Janeiro, inspired by the stories her mother shared and the letters from her father, a Petty Officer in the Brazilian Navy.

In 1976, her father's assignment in Southampton, England, excited the family, and they spent three and a half years there, embracing a new culture and learning English.

Cristina received a scholarship to attend a private college in Arkadelphia, Arkansas, graduating in 1991. She began her career in insurance in 1993 after working as a waitress. Cristina spent eight years at Amazonia Insurance Agency before briefly transitioning to real estate. She returned to the insurance field in 2008 and joined Cleary Insurance, Inc., in August 2024.

Cristina loves summer and enjoys spending time outdoors, especially at Plum Island with her pocket-sized American Bully, Gigi. She cherishes moments with family and friends, relishing their conversations filled with laughter and love. Grateful for her life, she looks forward to what the future holds.
