REACH Newsletter - Spring 2021
Spring has arrived!
To our AMAZING REACH Families,

With all that our communities and families have had to endure in the past year, we know that it can be challenging to stay positive, but we hope you will join us in feeling optimistic for the future.

We are currently planning for the next school year and hope to share more information with parents soon. We are reopening the parent survey for student learning options and hope that if you haven’t already, that you will take the time to let us know your preference for next year.
I want to give a SHOUT OUT to our formidable teachers and staff! They have persisted in delivering learning continuity and innovating new ways to support our students, all while keeping school safety and COVID regulations in mind.

Words cannot express how much I appreciate you continuing to choose REACH Leadership STEAM Academy for your children. I want to applaud our distance learning families for all that they do to help support their students as they learn remotely. Our school community's survival lies in the strength of and the collaboration between our staff and REACH families. 

I hope you had a relaxing spring break and please continue to stay safe and healthy.

2021 Virtual Jogathon
Learn, Play, Move, Repeat!

Join us for a VIRTUAL JOGATHON event
on April 23 & 24!

Movement is essential to keep our scholars healthy and happy! We invite all students and their families to participate!

Parents will receive an email invite from 99pledges to start sharing the information with their family and friends. Our goal this year is to raise $30,000!

Move It! Contest
To celebrate our virtual jogathon, we are asking REACH scholars to answer this question: Why is fitness important?

Students can highlight their favorite activities-- hiking, dancing, karate, running, etc by submitting an essay, poem, comic or other artwork.

We will recognize students in each grade level and winners will be awarded house points. In addition, winning entries will be featured in Yearbook Highlights!

Submissions are due by April 16.

Are you a business owner or know a business owner? We have an opportunity for you! Advertise for your business while helping REACH meet its goals! We have a campus of over 640 students and their families, plus over 70 staff members-- all looking for new places to eat and shop. Increase your exposure by choosing one of our four sponsorship tiers that range from $50 to $500.

All sponsorship submissions are 100% tax-deductible! Please choose a sponsorship by April 30, 2021.

ELAC Meeting

Join us for the April meeting of the English Learners Advisory Committee on Thursday, April 15 at 3 PM on Zoom. We would love to hear about parent's perspectives on cross-cultural inclusion at REACH.

AAPAC Meeting

All parents are invited to join us on April 15th at 6 PM on Zoom for the next meeting of the African American Advisory Committee.

Spelling Bee Finals!

Come see all of our un-BEE-lievable spellers the week that we return from Spring Break!

The Spelling Bee Finals will be Friday, April 16, on Zoom. For Zoom info, please see Class Dojo.

1st-3rd • 8-9:30 AM
4th-6th • 10-11:30 AM
April 27
Lottery for the 2021-22 School Year

We will be holding a lottery for TK through 4th grade on Tuesday, April 27 on Zoom. The event will live-streamed on Facebook at 3 PM.

All applicants who applied between January 1 and March 30, are eligible to participate. Lottery numbers will be sent out to the participants on April 16.

The results will be posted online within 24 hours of the lottery.

We are still taking late applications for the 2021-22 school year. Applicants will automatically be added to our waitlist.

Kinder Round Up

Come join the TK and Kinder teachers on Zoom at 4 PM on May 27 for a parent info session. Learn what to expect and how to prepare your TK or Kinder student for the fall.

Last Day of School

Summer Break begins June 19! Please make sure to complete the last phase of re-enrollment in June and keep a look-out for info on our 2021 Meet and Greet scheduled for August 19. The first day of the 2021-22 school year begins August 23.

REACH has partnered with UCR's Teach IE to offer free online tutoring for 5th and 6th graders starting April 12.

The purchase deadline for the yearbook has been extended to April 30th!

Purchase for $25 online at Pictavo Community. Search for our school or use the school code 95718.

Limited quantities will be available for purchase in person in June.
