Hola a todos!

While I am writing I am in Santiago de Chile and I am enjoying a wonderful view to the mountains of the Andes. I am here since end of April and I am grateful for all the connections I have made with so many people and our open hearts. It is embarrassing and healing for me to become more and more aware about the Eurocentric way of how I see the world and think this is the world. Of course it is not the first time that I travel - but this time makes me see again more and beyond of what I usually see or of what I hold as truth. The more I travel I also wonder how often I take for granted that we speak of the same when we use certain terms, words and concepts. While we are sharing the gift of Reiki we are coming from different places around the world, this is calling out different experiences of how we see the world and of how we see each other. This is not a very special insight maybe, but a good reminder for me that the way I see things might not be the same as others see things and that there is no right or wrong. There is more to say about all this - and I am looking forward to find some time in between flights and meetings to write more …

Greetings From Paul

After four years of scheduling events and canceling them, I am finally “on the road again”. There have been significant changes in my personal life during these four years, selling our home, retreat center, and property in Cataldo after 40 years, moving to Kellogg for nine months, and finally moving into Haystack Heights CoHousing Community in Spokane, Washington. 

Like many of us, the pandemic has taught me a lot about the fragility, uncertainty, and the preciousness of this life. It has asked me to let go of some of the illusions I have lived about being in control. The  Principles are asking me to surrender at another level. Why am I surprised?

Saying “yes” to this longed for opportunity of being in person once again and doing the “work” of the Office of the Grandmaster was another exercise in letting go and trusting the loving call from the South American community.

For the first time, we have been given the gift of being and working together in the fullness of oral tradition as the living body of the Office of the Grandmaster. The gracefulness, clear sense of being moved and guided by the collective energy in Reiki, in community, has been a most precious gift. To have again the experience lived so often in my work with Phyllis touches my heart. I am humbled and grateful.

Our first stop was Parana, an enthusiastic group of 75 students and masters. We shared our stories of history of OGM, Succession and Takata Archives.

I am writing from Santiago de Chile and our fourth country in South America gathering with students and masters. I am amazed as I watch the sun in the east make it's way west via the north! It was important to me that we make this connection again with this community even though we are in each country for only a weekend. This was the first time that the three of us have worked together in person in groups and I really enjoyed the way the energy flowed between us. We each answered questions from a different perspective that allowed us all to feel the expansive qualities of Usui Shiki Ryoho. It has been twenty years since I was last in South America and appreciate connecting again with this community, excited to plan events to stay longer and go deeper together. I am touched by everyone’s commitment and love of Reiki and my heart is warmed with invitations to return.
