BOL Food truck is rolling to Rosman!
Over a year ago, our Board developed a plan which would allow us to extend our efforts to serve hungry people in our county. Board members applied for and received a generous grant from the Canon Foundation, making possible the purchase of a used food truck. The truck has been freshly painted and our logo applied thanks to Michael Collins' efforts! Our plan initially is to bring prepared food to Rosman one day each week beginning later this month. We plan to expand this service to Balsam Grove and Cedar Mountain in the near future. We are grateful for this support, which will allow us to extend our mission of "sharing the food we prepare with those who have none".
Bread of Life endowment fund
Thanks to a very generous individual contributor, Bread of Life now has an established endowment fund. This is a major milestone in any non-profit organization's timeline, and it will allow us to continue our mission into the future with a solid financial footing. We will be distributing more information regarding this endowment by mail very soon.
Empty Bowls event a record success!
Thanks to the generosity of this amazing community, the Empty Bowls fundraiser for Bread of Life set a new record for donations! Mud Dabbers and regional potters contributed 900 bowls, and volunteers from First United Methodist Church in Brevard and BOL made this event a huge success! Music for the fundraiser was donated and performed by Carrie Morrisson and Michael Sweet. It was an enjoyable and productive day...thank you, donors!
