“The Lord has done great things for us, and we are filled with joy.” – Psalm 126:3
It has been an incredible last couple of months here at Bethlehem. This spring we have seen a new Bethlehem Lutheran Childcare center open, celebrated the confirmation of eight members, received vicars and interns, continued in coalitionary relationships within our NUMC, and officially announced the launch of Bethlehem Lutheran School, a school fully operated and funded by Bethlehem Lutheran Church, serving the children of North County St. Louis in an innovative microschool format.
None of this could be possible without the care and blessing of each and every one of you! As we look back at what God has done here just in the last few months, it's hard not to rejoice. We are so excited for all that has already happened and everything else coming next. Thank you for supporting our mission and vision of more and more people in St. Louis hearing the Word of the Lord!

Bethlehem Lutheran School!
We’re excited to officially introduce Bethlehem Lutheran School, a new K–5 school in North St. Louis that builds on the strong foundation laid by our CCLS Micro-School partnership. For the past three years, we’ve worked alongside Christ Community Lutheran School (CCLS) to provide quality Christian education in our neighborhood, and now we’re launching out as our own school, carrying forward the same commitment to faith, excellence, and care for each child. The history of Bethlehem Lutheran School goes back over 100 years, and we’re thrilled to bring the name and its legacy back to life as we #BringBackTheBulldogs!
Watch the video below to learn more about how Bethlehem Lutheran School is growing out of something familiar and stepping boldly into something new.
For us to continue to serve our city through our school, we need your help! Consider donating your time to volunteer or give HERE.

Pam’s Deaconess internship year has a special focus on early childhood education, where she will bring both care and clarity to our growing programs. Her leadership will enhance team cohesion, ensure regulatory compliance, and raise curriculum standards—helping us meet our goal of increasing parent satisfaction to 80% and beyond.
In addition to her work with children and staff, Pam will serve as our coordinator of social ministry and volunteer engagement. Her heart for service and her organizational gifts will help mobilize our church to better meet the needs of our neighborhood with compassion and excellence.

Vicar Chuck Wallace - Chapel of the Cross Lutheran, St. Louis
Seminarian Chuck Wallace will be serving his vicarage at Chapel of the Cross - Lutheran here in North County! In addition to teaching, preaching and the traditional vicarage duties at Chapel of the Cross, this placement brings exciting overlap with the ministry of Bethlehem. For over five years, Bethlehem and Chapel have partnered through our EAC program, and this next step deepens that relationship in meaningful ways. Chuck will also help bridge ministries like EAC and childcare into the life of Chapel, creating new opportunities for shared mission and collaboration.
This placement is a key part of the ongoing work of the North Urban Ministry Coalition and a reflection of how God is drawing our churches closer together for the sake of the Gospel.
Chuck’s wife, Katrina, continues to serve as Bethlehem’s Director of Music, where her gifts serve our mission through worship each week. We are excited to walk alongside Chuck and Katrina as they serve in this unique and uniting season of ministry!

Holy Week!
Holy Week at Bethlehem was a full one! We began with a joyful Palm Sunday service, shared in the Lord’s Supper on Maundy Thursday, and reflected on Christ’s sacrifice during a Tenebrae Good Friday service. On Saturday, families gathered for a free Easter Egg Hunt, and on Sunday, we celebrated the Resurrection of Jesus with great joy! That same morning, we also celebrated the confirmation of eight new members. We are thrilled to rejoice with Jahron, Faye, Laquisha, Zaviera, Clark, Jessie, Lavada, and Rita, who each took a big step in their faith by boldly confessing what they believe. We are so thankful for everyone who helped make Holy Week possible, and we give thanks for all the Lord has done for us through His life, death, and resurrection.

Ash Wednesday and Consecration Week!
Consecration Week and Ash Wednesday are an important part of our yearly ministry here at Bethlehem. Across all of our EAC sites, we participate in the imposition of ashes, remembering what the Lord has done for us. Throughout the week, we fast from everyday comforts, set aside distractions, and devote more time to prayer and Scripture. Although Consecration Week has passed, if you’d like to learn more about what that week looks like, click HERE.
