Spring 2025 Class Registration Opens Next Week, on Monday, November 4

Make sure to review the Registration Timeline and the checklist below to ensure you are able to register for your spring classes when it’s time!

  • Undergraduate students must meet with their faculty advisors prior to class registration.

  • Visit passport.sage.edu to log in to Self-Service

  • Under Self-Service – Student Planning – Plan My Degree, make sure all your holds are cleared. Holds will pop up in red in the right-hand corner of the screen. If you have a hold, contact the Solutions office to clear up your account.

  • Review the spring 2025 course schedule in Self-Service. Did you know you can add the courses you plan to take to your Student Planning section so you can see what your schedule could look like?

  • Review the Registration Timeline. Your class registration timeline depends on the amount of credits you’ve completed. Mark your calendar so you know when to register!

Not sure where to start? Contact the Solutions desks by calling 518-244-2020,

emailing solutions@sage.edu, or stopping by the library on either campus, Monday through Friday, 9 a.m.-5 p.m., where a Solutions representative can help you!

From IT: The Secret Ingredient is Multifactor Authentication

Multifactor authentication is like cake — the more layers the better! When MFA is enabled, it will require anyone logging into an account to navigate a two-step process to prove their identity — usually via a push notification.

How it works: When logging into your account, you first provide your password or passphrase. Next, you provide an extra way of proving that you’re you; this is typically done through:

  • An extra PIN (personal identification number)
  • An extra security question like, “What’s your favorite pet’s name?”
  • An additional code, either emailed or texted
  • A biometric identifier like facial recognition or a fingerprint
  • A unique number generated by an authenticator app
  • A secure token is a separate piece of hardware (like a key fob that holds information) that verifies a person’s identity with a database or system

Why should you use MFA on your accounts?

  • Extra layer of protection: Just like adding frosting to a cake enhances its flavor and presentation, MFA adds an extra layer of security to your accounts. It makes them more appealing and resilient against threats.

  • Prevents spoiling: Using quality ingredients is crucial for a cake’s success. Similarly, MFA helps prevent your accounts from “spoiling” by keeping them safe from unauthorized access, even if one ingredient (like your password) is compromised.

  • Peace of mind: When you bake a cake with care, you know it’s going to turn out well. Enabling MFA gives you confidence that your accounts are secure, allowing you to focus on enjoying life rather than worrying about potential breaches.
