Dear Friends,
One year ago we were introduced to the coronavirus and our lives took a sharp left turn into the unknown. A year later we are now lining up for vaccines, spring is in evidence all around us, and hope feels like a reasonable possibility again.
It was a year of great reflection for me and significant losses - employment, housing, and the life of a dear and long-time friend to COVID. I've said this before, but I found the past year was remarkable for the silver linings that emerged from the losses. In the end, the things that matter surfaced as the same things that always matter, only more so. I know that life is short. That fear should never stop you. To cherish all who you love - deeply and without reservation. And to remember that simple acts of kindness - giving and receiving - can mean everything.
I decided that a compilation of the photos on my phone was perhaps the best way to capture the past year and to offer a look at the moments that stayed with me. It was a year of masks, books, meals, wine, the beloved animals - wild and domestic, the beautiful mountains, great neighbors, dear friends, working in the studio, packing, moving, lots of driving, great art, politics, holidays, cherished time with my daughter, and a big birthday. I hope you enjoy traveling through my past year and I thank all of you who kept me nourished and loved.
And when spring arrives I always think of the great Betty Carter's version of
Spring Can Really Hang You Up the Most. It's become for me a bit of an anthem to usher in the season. Bittersweet and always soulful,

Sending out much love to you all,
Happy Spring!
