Kirtan with Shankari Bowmaster and The Ascendants

Kirtan is a form of call and response devotional singing, a type of joyous meditation that has the ability to quiet the mind, open your heart and change your consciousness. Non-denominational. No experience necessary. All ages.

This workshop includes an introduction to Kirtan, a performance by The Ascendants, and time for Q&A.

“You don’t have to sing well because it’s not about singing, in the usual sense. We’re not memorizing complex lyrics, layering harmonies, and we’re certainly not busting out powerhouse solos. It works whether it’s done alone, or in a group, as in a powerful kirtan. It works whether it’s done softly or in full voice, as long it is from the heart and with the belly.”

When : Saturday April 7, 4:00-5:30 p.m.
Cost : $10/person
Laugha Yoga Workshop

Laugha Yoga is an easy and fun way to boost confidence, increase health, and promote well-being and happiness. It’s appropriate for every body and can be done standing, sitting, walking or even lying down.

Laugha Yoga allows us to break out of the logical mind by using intentional laughter in a structured class setting. This practice can lead to social bonding and a general feeling of joy.

No sense of humor is needed in this workshop. Just like you do not have to be flexible to practice yoga, you do not need to be a comedian to enjoy Laugha Yoga! Feel free to laugh until you cry and cry until you laugh.

Limit 16. Please register to reserve your spot!

Fundamentals Of Yin Yoga
A workshop with Marla Cantor of Yoga Sparks Cville

Love Yin Yoga, Just Curious, Want to Explore Deeper?

This Yin Yoga workshop is an in-depth study of all things Yin. Suitable for anyone wanting to explore the practice and theory of Yin Yoga, including new and long-time practitioners and teachers.

Yin Yoga focuses on working deeper tissues – ligaments, joints, deep fascial tissues, and bones. All poses are done seated or lying down. Yin is unique because we relax the muscles and use gravity to come to our edge. Improvements in flexibility, awareness, and stress level are common.

Yin Yoga is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after styles of yoga. Perhaps it is because we are craving the qualities that a Yin practice provides: stillness, simplicity, self-examination, and just being in the present moment. These are the elements that make up the heart of Yin Yoga.

In this workshop we will cover:

• The History of Yin
• What is Yin and Yang?
• Theory of Exercise
• What are Yin and Yang tissues of the body?
• Why don’t we move?
• Physical Aspects of Yin
• Energetic Aspects of Yin
• Emotional and Mental Aspects of Yin
• Why do Yin?

This workshop will start with a 90 minute practice followed by lecture, videos, and discussion.

This event is already filling quickly! Please register in advance to reserve your space.
