A common site this time of year - kiteboarding at First Encounters Beach, Eastham
"Spring is when you feel like whistling, even with a shoe full of slush"
We don't want to count our chickens just yet, but so far what a mild winter we've experienced, really little or no snow falls and none of those damaging nor'easters or bombagenesis events thus far. The Town has spent much of winter rebuilding and planting the dunes at Nauset Beach - it looks good. For the past few weeks we've been busy refreshing the Inn for the season.
Prior to that we had a couple of significant personal events. Firstly we welcomed our second grandson Theo to the world. Jo spent three weeks with Mum and baby, what a joy.
Secondly, many will know our daughter Beth has been backpacking around South America, and I was able to join her for two weeks in Bolivia and Peru. To be able to see such historical sights including a bucketlist must, Machu Picchu, and experience first hand such colorful, rich cultures and such nice people leaves you with memories to last a lifetime. For many of our guests who love to travel and explore, this is a wonderful place to visit.

Best Restaurants, Orleans, Cape Cod
We will often promote our local restaurants here in Orleans. Whether it's a craving for fresh seafood, a classic lobster luncheon, or perhaps an evening of fine dining, there is something for every palate, all within 20 minutes of the Inn. Our most recent blog highlights some of our favorites. Don't forget "Restaurant Week" is coming up, where local restaurants offer exhibition menus, not to be missed.
