TESTIMONIAL

I was in the process of trying to find a new care facility for my father who has advanced Alzheimer's. I was dreading the search for a new place. Luckily, Teresa and Trusted Senior Placement is the first place I contacted. Teresa immediately put me at ease. She promised a list of potential places that met my criteria by the end of the week and she delivered. I would recommend Teresa Jepsen and Trusted Senior Placement to anyone.

Did you know. . .
Brain Awareness Month

It is common knowledge that Alzheimer's robs people of their ability to remember, but other truths about the disease remain unknown. This June, we are debunking harmful misconceptions that keep people from seeking a diagnosis and that reduce access to needed resources and support services. Uncover the truths and take action to help end this disease.

How are we different?

What makes us different from our competitors is that we do not give you a list of facilities to cold call. We research, interview, tour, negotiate cost, and select the best available options for your particular needs.

The hint of Spring has passed and we are enjoying Spring in all it's glory! Enjoy the article on Accessible Gardening for Seniors. It is a great way to encourage seniors to care for a little something new, watching the "fruit" of their labor appear each day. And, just when we are delighted that the grandkids will be out for Easter Break, be aware of a trend in scammers who impersonate grandchildren in peril calling for help! Finally, a heads up on the possibility that blood pressure medications may be given out by mistake, or simply out of habit. We need to seek out information to make the most informed health decisions possible. And, Happy Brain Awareness Month! See what we can do to keep our brains healthy!

Warm Regards,

Spring Scam
Spring Break Season Prime-time For Grandparent Scam

BBB warns family members to be on alert

As students and family members begin to prepare for spring break, Better Business Bureau of Minnesota and North Dakota (BBB) is warning relatives staying home - particularly grandparents - to be on the lookout for the grandparent scheme.

This is when scammers contact seniors, usually over the phone, and pretend to be a grandchild in distress.

As scams go, it's been quite successful and as part of National Consumer Protection Week (NCPW), which takes place March 5 - 11, BBB offers tips to those most at risk.

Accessible Gardening
Creating An Easy Care Senior Garden

A lifelong love of gardening should not have to end as mobility and other issues arise in seniors. The leisure pastime provides exercise, stimulation, accomplishment and a host of other benefits that are healthy for the mind and body. Nurseries and garden centers are heeding the special needs of older gardeners.

High Blood Pressure? Your Doctor Maybe Over Medicating You.

According to the CDC
,over 30% of Americans have Hypertension. If you fall into this group, then your doctor may very well be over-medicating you. The results can be fatigue, muscle weakness and injury-causing falls. People being treated with anti-hypertensive drugs tend to rate themselves as being in poorer physical and mental health than people with similar blood pressure measurements who don't take medications.
