Hello Friends, Family and our Greater Community,
|
|
I'm not sure about you, but the past few years have felt like a lot. And now adding on the crisis in Ukraine, some days it just seems like too much. If you are feeling an increased amount of stress, anxiety, and sleeplessness, like many of our community, know you are not alone.
So how do we do this, how are we able to welcome in Spring, with new beginnings, flowers, beauty, and lightness, while still holding space for all that is happening around us? The simple answer is more self-care.
If we can make and take the time to add in self-care to our daily routines then each of us will have more bandwidth to be a support for others, to navigate and stay in balance through the events of our lives and the world.
Self-care can look different for everyone. Some may go for a walk, some may spend time in meditation, some may spend time with friends and others have a different idea all together. Whatever inspires you, connects you and supports you in feeling your best self, that is what is important to spend time with each day.
This newsletter is focused on self-care. We have some new offerings in mind body medicine: a beginning class series, an all-day class for cancer survivors and our third Daycation, a self-care afternoon (3 hour) retreat offering you yoga, meditation, nurturing masks for your hands and feet to leave you feeling totally refreshed.
Sharing is caring and we are also bringing back Galentines day to re-inspire and share with you some much needed "girl talk" addressing pleasure, sensation and self-care. If you missed the first time around or would like to view again, see the link below!
Lastly, if you have not taken our hormone quiz and are curious if your hormones are playing a role in any of your current symptoms, take a moment to find out! This quiz was created to help identify how many areas of our health are impacted by our hormones and how important it is to balance them.
From all of us at Amber Wellness Group, we wish you peace and good health~

Living Your Healthiest Life
Mindfulness Meditation and Mind Body Medicine can offer a range of techniques that help to relax our body and mind, and better regulate our stress responses during times of uncertainty. In the midst of the unknown with the next variant, our individual health state, or the struggles that people are facing throughout our world, these techniques offer a reprieve, a moment to shift our body into a parasympathetic state and allow you to change your mindset from what is happening to you, to practicing moment by moment awareness and staying in presence. When we lose sight of the present moment and worry about the future, we often feel more anxiety. When our thoughts get stuck in the past, we feel more depression. Past and future are normal states for our mind to explore, so it is important to avoid judging yourself. What we want to do is notice and allow...this too... and if we can begin to practice more presence, we will get better at that as well.
What Mindfulness Based Meditation Can Do for You
Mindfulness based meditation helps us reconnect with our bodies, which can provide a place of grounding and support in times of distress. When difficult emotions arise, we can use techniques of awareness, helping to reduce our current states of fear and anxiety. When we are able to bring more awareness to our inner dialogues, beliefs, stories, and worries that might be perpetuating our stress state, we can feel more relaxed and creative. When we are more relaxed we can move into heart-opening practices of forgiveness, kindness and compassion towards our self and others.
If you are interested in learning more about mindfulness meditation and how to rediscover and redirect your attention toward the things that really matter to you, we are offering a beginning class in mindfulness meditation. This class is a 4 part series, start date April 7, 2022. You can attend in person or Zoom in.
