Shared Housing as a Strategy to Reduce Homelessness

by Rebecca Nussbaum, Chief Program Officer

The United States is currently 7 million affordable housing units short of what it needs to address the urgent need for affordable housing for our low-income community members. That is why implementing shared housing as a homelessness solutions strategy is so important. Read more

Be a Superhero this Spring!

Community Resource Center's Spring Superhero fundraiser will help provide food, shelter and safety for those who need it most in our community.

The San Diego Hunger Coalition estimates that nearly 1 in 3 children is affected by food insecurity. One child in need is too many.

With your help, we can continue to assist low-income families, those experiencing homelessness and domestic violence, and vulnerable seniors.

Thank you for your generosity and continued support!

Capital Campaign

We are pleased to report we exceeded the $500,000 fundraising goal for the Leonard Challenge we announced in mid-January. We raised $555,337 during the past three months, and are finalizing two pledges that will result in more than $200,000 attributable to the Leonard Challenge.

Our deep thanks to Elizabeth and John Leonard for their humble service and inspiring leadership of this initiative, as well as to the generous donors who stepped up to beat the challenge. These donors include Sheri Seipel-Burtt and Ken Burtt, The David C. Copley Foundation, John and Jenny Hall, Cynthia P. Kellogg and Tom and Roni Seay. Their commitment to the campaign is a testament to the compassion they have for the neighbors in our community who come to CRC in need.

At 18 months into the capital campaign, we are at $6.195 million in total gifts and pledges raised –

59% of the way toward our $10.5 million campaign goal.
