February 2018
A.S. Government
Welcome to 2018, Spartans!

Associated Students (A.S.) continues to mark its 120th year celebration of student advocacy, leadership and service. We officially kick off A.S. elections on February 1st! If you are interested in being an advocate for students for the 2018-2019 academic year, visit as.sjsu.edu/vote. Find the dates for Candidate Orientation and Ethics sessions in this newsletter. Personally, running as a candidate was one of the best decisions I made in my college career. I hope other students will find that to be the case for them, too.

We are happy to welcome a new member to the A.S. Board of Directors! Kyle Norman was appointed in December as the new Director of Internal Affairs. He succeeded Thi Tran who graduated in the fall. “I'm looking forward to making, conquering and reporting all concerns and proposals for any change in policy that affects our campus community and Associated Students. In my term, I'd like to maintain and amend the Elections Regulation Manual and ensure all parliamentary procedures are followed and intact,” says Norman, a third year philosophy major.
