This happy pup is Smokey, a yellow lab. Smokey and his brother, Teddy, joined the Happy Hounds family in January 2005 at the age of 7 months. He's the goofy, needy one of the two. Smokey wants all of the attention and he wants it now! If another dog is being pet within view of him, Smokey will often voice his disapproval and/or nudge your hand away from the other dog and onto him. Good thing we have two hands!
This sweet boy is Teddy, a yellow lab. Teddy and his brother, Smokey, joined the Happy Hounds family in January 2005 at the age of 7 months. He is the biggest lover you'll ever meet. Teddy doesn't have one remotely grumpy bone in his body. He is typically found lounging in the sun, waiting for someone to talk to him and give him love. If he's not quite done with the attention, Teddy will gently paw at your leg, politely asking for more.
This pretty lady is Sashia, a Springer Spaniel. Sashia joined the Happy Hounds family in March of 2007 at the age of two. When she isn't patrolling the yard for squirrels, she's often found sprawled out on her back in an awkward position. Sashia is ALWAYS the first to charge to the boarding house to snatch up the most desired spot on the couch.
This handsome devil is Charlie, a Nova Scotia Duck Tolling Dog. Charlie joined the Happy Hounds family in December of 2009 at the age of one. He has a very serious job which includes but is not limited to; keeping nuisance critters away from the yard, alerting the pack of an approaching human, and patrolling dogs at play. Charlie takes his job very seriously. He never lets his guard down not even for a quick snooze in the sun. Thanks for all the hard work, Charlie!
These wonderful Happy Hounds pups celebrate another joyous, fun loving bone-chewing, birthday.

March is National Poison Awareness Month!
Keep your furry loved ones safe by pet proofing your home and knowing the signs of poisoning.
Top 10 Most Common Dog Poisons:
- Mouse and Rat Poisons
- Vitamins and Minerals
- NSAIDs (e.g., ibuprofen, naproxen, etc.)
- Cardiac Medications
- Cold and Allergy Medications
- Caffeine Pills
Know the Signs of Poisoning:
- Lack of appetite
- Excessive thirst or urination
- Weakness or lethargy
Signs of poisoning in dogs and cats can range tremendously based on the underlying poison. If you think your dog or cat has been poisoned, call your veterinarian or Pet Poison Helpline at 800-213-6680 immediately for assistance! When it comes to poisoning, the sooner you treat your dog or cat, the better the outcome.
When boarding your dog with us, we MUST have your dogs updated vaccination records 48 hours BEFORE he/she begin boarding. If you are traveling abroad, we also will need a local contact in case of emergency.
Your dog MUST have a snap "quick release" collar for day care and boarding, with no tags attached. You can keep the snap collar in your Happy Hounds backpack. If this is not his/her daily collar we will change it out when your dogs arrive at Happy Hounds. This is important for your dogs safety.
Last summer we celebrated 10 great years of cage-free, fun-loving service with our day care facilities and our overnight lodging. Our staff is dedicated to your dog's fun and well-being. Please visit us online to learn about our services. You can also watch our doggie webcams anytime.
