Fund Spotlight: John and Frannie Herron Park Fund

John and Frannie Herron moved into one of Worcester's oldest neighborhoods, Crown Hill, in the 1970s. A year after Frannie died in 1996, Preservation Worcester joined with others in the neighborhood to create a pocket park in her honor. When John died in 2008, the park was rededicated as the John and Frannie Herron Park at the family's request. In 2013,Frank Herron and his wife, Sandy Urie, made a gift to the Foundation to create a maintenance fund for the new park.

Today, the park offers an oasis of greenery in dense Crown Hill. A walkway and bench invite visitors to stroll and linger.
