26th Melrose Run for Women

It was a picture-perfect Mother's Day for the Melrose Running Club's 26th annual Melrose Run for Women. Over 800 runners and walkers took to the streets around Pine Banks Park for the 3.5-mile race.

A HUGE thank you to our friends at the Melrose Running Club. Their efforts and passion for MAAV's mission do not go unnoticed in the community. The funds raised from this beloved event go directly to support our programs such as our Survivor Support group and our Healthy Relationships Programming in the schools.

New Initiative: MAAV/WAAV/SAAV Roundtable

We are thrilled to be participating in a bi-monthly Roundtable with Wakefield's and Stoneham’s Alliance Against Violence leadership to share resources and ideas on how we can best support each other as well as create shared initiatives.

One area of particular focus for the group is revitalizing and expanding its Men4MAAV initiative to include members from all three communities.

Please be on the lookout for some exciting announcements about this initiative this summer!

A Look Back at the Year

Can't forget to mention...

10th Annual Community Coffee House was a big success!

It was a Sunday afternoon filled with good vibes, music, and words to

inspire hope and change in our community.

This intergenerational event, "Voices Against Violence", featured 11 performances centered around the themes of friendship, love, healthy relationships, and speaking out against violence.

We are thankful to Rabbi Jessica Lowenthal and Temple Beth Shalom for donating the event space and to Raj Das of EDphotos.com for all of the great photos. And send a special shoutout to our Student Action Board members as well for planning and putting

on such a successful community event. We are already looking forward to next year!

This event was funded in part by the Melrose Messina Fund for the Arts.
