Spring Cub Activity Day - 5/13/17

WHO : Program is designed for Cub Scouts.  However, all siblings aged 5-12 are welcome to register and participate in program.
WHEN : 9am to 3pm.  Check in starts at 8:15am
COST: Registration will be $20 for youth, and will include your very own POcKÉt MONster trainer hat and patch*, all program, and one meal ticket for lunch in the dining hall.  Adults wishing to purchase lunch may do so (meals cost around $5). *Register by 4/26 to make sure you get yours.
Specialty Camps at Ten Mile River Scout Camps

Specialty Camps at Ten Mile River are a great opportunity for Scouts to attend camp provisionally and work on a specialized curriculum. Scouts in a camp with their Troop are also permitted to participate in a specialty camp but preregistration may be required. Classes and opportunities may have additional fees and age requirements.

Join us for several fun filled weekends at Alpine Scout Camp. Registered Cub Scouts, their parents and siblings (five years or older) are invited to enjoy the Cub Scout program together. Arrival starts at 6 PM on Friday. Program begins at 9AM on Saturday. Breakfast, lunch and dinner on Saturday as well as breakfast on Sunday are included.  bsa-gnyc.org/FFW

With Easter and Passover  now behind us our thoughts should turn the that part of the Scout law where "A Scout is Helpful".  The New York City Parks Dept. is well into the "Its My Park Day" Activities. Your unit can earn community service hours and be involved with helping out in your own neighborhood.

Once you have selected a site and attended the work day, PLEASE contact the GNYC Comm. for Conservation, Outdoor Ethics & STEM  include your unit, number of participants, hours worked and what you did.This will allow us to track all your efforts and our city-wide impact.
STEM, OUTDOOR ETHICS, and CONSERVATION

The Committee is in need of help with all of our efforts for the sake of the youth in our communities and that attend all of our camps. You can help out on any individual part of the Comm. (Conservation or Leave No Trace or STEM )or as a general member assisting with all of our efforts. We need your help developing the Conservation Management Plans for our Camps, and leading Community Service events;  or educating Scouts and Scouters about Leave No Trace and TREAD Lightly;  or guiding STEM programs and helping with all sorts of special awards .  Or You could be an advisor to the Committee  on matters of Science or Technology or Conservation (etc) So as you can see "WE NEED YOU" please reach out to Committee Chair Shawn Spencer at 646-643-9552 or via email  to schedule a time to come chat with us and play a role in the program for thousands of Scouts and Scouters.
