Hippity hop! Hippidy hop! April bounces into town with a 4-day weekend, glorious sun shine, and our Spring class schedule starting soon!

We're so excited about the new classes, we're hopping up and down! Starting Apr. 7, the Big Kids Club Spring Season runs until the end of June, full of activities, outings, stories, and group discussion. Your preschooler is going to LOVE it! :)

And your toddler is going to be a preschooler before you know it!

Kids go from toddlers to preschoolers in the blink of an eye, and with kids, even 6 months can bring huge periods of growth and development. Especially growth... until nothing fits!

This month also marks the return of our annual Kids' Toy and Clothing Swap, happening on Sunday, Apr. 26 from noon to 2pm. Entry is $10, including your first 10 items, and you can get a free pass if you bring your kids' cast-offs into Buddings between Apr. 13 and 24. That gives you a couple of weeks to get sorted.

November is even further off, but we're taking this April Fools' Day to launch our campaign to stop the time changing nonsense of Daylight Savings Time, and we invite you to join us.

Detail below! Hop, hop, hop!

Hippity Hop, Hippidy Hop... Spring is Right Around the Corner!
New Season's Classes Start Apr. 7!

If you're hearing about our afternoon play and learning program for preschoolers for the first time, you're joining us at the perfect time! The Spring Season is about to start, and we have a line-up of amazing classes that run from 1 - 4pm every day from April to June.

These classes go way beyond letters and numbers, and emphasize group experiences, collaboration, and hands on learning... with some letters and letters thrown in!

The kids take regular field trips, play in parks, plant gardens, learn about urban living, and participate in their own learning through their questions and interpretations.

Regular members of the Big Kids' Club have tonnes of friends, are super social, and love getting together for class. To get the details of how your child can join, send an email to preschoolers@buddings.ca.

We're so excited about the Spring Line-Up, we're hopping up and down!

Johanna and Drago the Dragon introduce themselves on the blog this week, spreading their class wings to present Tuesdays AND Fridays every week, for even more opportunities for kids to connect to the stories and Johanna's connection-based philosophy.

Myths and magic, breathing and body awareness, her classes are a journey on the wings of a dragon, and with so much to offer, the additional day means we can travel twice as far!

The season runs until the end of June, but somewhere along the way, Jen will be stepping back from her Thursday class, All About Babies... to have a baby. Everyone is so excited!

It's a perfect opportunity to do some research about babies, and see where our imaginations can take us in our new one-time-only (so far) Thursday presentation: All About Babies!

They're small, cute, noisy, and special. They live in tummies, come from hospitals, and need a lot of sleep. What do kids know about babies? Let's find out - Thursdays, 1 - 4pm.

After all the fun we had on our nature walks and field trips through March, we're definitely going to continue running our Science and Nature class, on Wednesday.

With the warmer weather, there are even more opportunities to be outside, and since that's where Nature is at its best, we'll be out there checking it out.

Lastly, we are absolutely thrilled to be welcoming Lisa Sars for a weekly presentation of her amazing kids' yoga dance classes.
On Mondays, join her for Butterfly Feet Yoga Dance!

The calendar for April, May, and June is up and ready for the adventure to begin! We can't wait!

... but we have to... because the season doesn't start until April 7. It runs every afternoon from 1 - 4pm until June 26. See you there!

Spring Swap - Apr. 26, 2015

We're pleased to announce the date of our annual Kids' Toy & Clothing Swap, happening at Buddings on Sunday April 26, from noon - 2pm.

If you have stuff your child no longer wears, cares, or bears, bag it up and bring it into Buddings between April 13 and 24 for free entry to the swap, and your first 10 items free! After that, every item is just $1. Seriously.

Lightly used baby gear, toys for toddlers, and lots of clothes for kids from 0 - 5 years old. Our clothing swaps are a tonne of fun, with prizes from local businesses, treats for parents and kids, and a wonderful opportunity to stock up for summer for $1 per item!

The details will be coming soon, but in the meantime, browse that closet and get bagging. Need some help on how to purge? Don't worry, we're professionals. ;)

Stop the Change You Don't Want to See in the World!

In honour of April Fools' Day, we invite you to join our real... well... somewhat real, campaign to put an end to the most foolish of global policies: Daylight Savings Time.

This year, partly in jest, and partly in sincerity, Buddings is organizing a boycott:

We will not be changing our clocks this November. We will even un-change the iPads and office computer. Buddings will continue to operate on what we propose to call Pacific Normal Time (PNT).

Of course, we won't leave families high and dry in Pacific "Standard" Time. We'll even show you how you can use VNT in your life.
