Tacoma Public Schools and community partners have come together to offer Beyond the Bell activities for students in grades K-5 and Club Beyond activities for students in grades 6-8. Choose from options offered before and after school, on data days, and during school breaks.

Family Nature Walks

April 15: 10 am (Tacoma Nature Center)

Explore Tacoma Parks during these naturalist-led walks. Discover the amazing plants and animals that live in these parks and how they adapt in the different seasons. Dress for the weather – walk will happen rain or shine.

Grab your apron and leave the rest up to us! The Senior Culinary Arts Program is a 10-week series featuring cooking classes in the kitchens at the Center at Norpoint and STAR Center.

Kids Night Out

Enjoy a night off while your kids enjoy a night out! Our 5,000 sq. ft. indoor/outdoor Treetops playground is a blast, and kids can also enjoy themed games, and crafts.

Klahoywa

Fort Nisqually Living History Museum

April 29: 11 am - 4 pm

FREE to all Pierce County residents

In 1855, Fort Nisqually was home to people from around the world and they greeted each other with the Chinook Jargon word “Klahowya.” The Fort will be filled with historical interpreters in period clothes eager to answer questions, demonstrate historic trades and crafts. Visitors will have plenty of family friendly and hands-on activities to choose from.

Grit City Litter Cleanup

April 15: 9 am - 12 pm (Point Defiance Marina)

April 29: 10 am - 12 pm (Puget Park)

April is Earth Month and Volunteer Month and it’s a perfect time to get involved in litter pick-up at Tacoma’s parks. Cleanup events are scheduled at various park locations through September.

Parks Appreciation Day

Participants are needed in parks throughout Tacoma to spruce up local parks by trimming limbs, grooming grounds and maintaining restoration areas. Each person counts!
