With Spring Season upon us, more sunlight is on the horizon along with less sleep and spring breakers!
One such group, is the Howard University Golf (HUG) Team, who chose Orange County for their annual spring training. This HBCU golf program made its Division I debut in 2020 and is thriving in part due to our local phenom, Joshua "Eagle" Siplin. To learn more about the HU Golfers, click HERE.
Speaking of locals, Orange County Planning Division staff and I met with Tangelo Park residents to discuss a neighborhood beautification project to help prioritize enhancements to their community. Moreover, the Orange County Stormwater Division will meet with Orlo Vista and Westside Manor residents on March 15th to give an update on the flood mitigation project (see meeting flyer below).
Many of you will carve out some time, in the coming weeks, to clear out household waste and trim overgrown vegetation. With that in mind, please visit ocfl.net/WhatGoesWhere to learn about waste disposal options and locations. Be sure to review the Orange County Open Burn Ban Ordinance at ocfl.net/OpenBurningRules.
This March edition would not be complete without acknowledging the various women who help contribute to the successes in District 6. Happy Women's Herstory Month and thank you for doing your part!
Time is ticking; check off your honey-do list and continue to let your light shine, even if you feel sleep deprived. Blessings!
