Calling all Club Members and Wapiti Nordic supporters! The snow report will be short but there's lots of other work happening in the background at WNSC - year round. We want your ear and input to help keep our Club strong and moving forward. The Lodge will be open before and after the meeting for storage wax access. March | 2024

Wapiti Nordic was recently recognized by Nordiq Alberta (the Provincial sports organization for cross country skiing) as their Race Organizer of the Year for hosting the 2024 Alberta Winter Games event on February 16-19, 2024. Thank you so much to all of the club volunteers who showed up to shovel, groom, shovel some more and put on such a fabulous event!! And kudos again to Swamp Dodgers for their snow making genius. It truly was a heroic effort to ensure our Club - and the region - put their best foot forward! Be very proud!

April 1 - Oct 31 | 2024

For those that do not have an annual WNSC membership, day passes are now available via our website. Summer memberships will be launched by April 15th. Please encourage family and friends to purchase either option when using our trails to help offset summer maintenance and infrastructure expenses, and provide the user (and Club) with insurance coverage while on our trails. Summer maintenance plans will be shared at the Spring GM (see above).

Winter | 2023-2024

The Bunny Rabbit, Jackrabbit, Go Ski Girls & the Boys Club wrapped-up on March 16th with the first, and hopefully annual, Lap-si-doodle. Once again there was lots of interest in our Children’s Learn to Ski program, with over 60 young athletes, and great participation at our year end event. Many thanks to our volunteer leaders who made Saturday mornings possible, with or without snow. And thank you parents for your interest, encouragement, and participation in the most wonderful, and family friendly, activity of cross country skiing. Truly a great way to spend a Saturday morning. But wait, there’s more…. thank you James Proudfoot for making our Lap-si-doodle Snow Bridge, next to the gummy worms, it was the highlight of the event! See you next Winter!

Winter | 2023-2024



Biathlon Bears started on the first Sunday in November with dryland training & using the Ecoaim rifles. Unbeknownst to us at the time, the dryland training would continue for two more months! By the time January rolled around, everyone was really good at running through obstacle courses and accurately shooting the Ecoaim rifles. Two of our Bears, Wyatt & Elijah, participated in the Alberta Winter Games. Both showed inspirational spirit, sportsmanship and perseverance for their first biathlon competition. And thank you parents for getting your athletes to practice early to help with zeroing the rifles, and to everybody for helping to pack-up the range (rifles, targets, carpets, obstacle course) at the end of practice. You’re all Top Guns to us!

Spring / Summer | 2024

We have several programs lined up and open for registration: Youth (Recreational & Developmental) for 8-17yr olds and Youth (Competitive) for 11-17 yr olds, also our popular Gals n' Gears which offers skill building workshops and weekly group trail rides. New group leaders are always welcome and if someone wants to lead a men's group session - email us ASAP!
