What's Happening

MPZ Receives State Grant

For the third year in a row, Miller Park Zoo has been awarded a large grant by the State of Illinois. The area that will benefit from the grant money the most will be the 108 year-old Katthoefer Animal Building which will undergo infrastructure and basement renovations.

Guests will see a new pool in the Tropical Rainforest and new exhibits in the Katthoefer Building.

Avian Flu Precautions

To protect our birds from the highly contagious (to birds) Avian Influenza, all outdoor birds have been moved indoors and may be off exhibit for a short time. The Tropical Rainforest is still open!

Carousel and Concessions Open

Both the Carousel and Concession stand is now open on weekends! Take your kids for a spin or get yourself a tasty treat. Carousel rides can be purchased in the gift shop and are just $1.75.

Katthoefer Animal Outdoor Exhibits Open

Zoo guests can now stop by the outdoor viewing areas for our big cats and primates (weather allowing)! The indoor areas will remain closed at this time. Thank you for your patience as we continue to protect our animals.
