Economic Development: Peter Remes and the Prior Works Building

Peter Remes, CEO of First & First, along with R2 Companies, recently acquired Prior Works in the Midway area of St. Paul and is spearheading a bold reimagining of the campus as a lively hub for creativity, commerce, and culture. Known for transforming unique properties into vibrant community destinations, Remes and First & First are introducing new branding, improved aesthetics, curated art installations, and thoughtful wayfinding to strengthen Prior Works' identity and experience. As a key part of this vision, the team recently commissioned artist Eric Rieger, known as Hot Tea, to install one of the largest sculptures in the world within the property—marking a new chapter for Prior Works as an inspiring center for artistic enterprise in the Midway.
