SPRING HAS SPRUNG

Tomorrow is the the first day of Spring and we have programs coming up to help you embrace the most abundant time of year!

Share, take, and start plant seedlings at our March 30th outdoor gardening exchange event taking place at Redwood Shores Branch Library. We will have supplies and tips for starting seeds from our Seed Library, with a special focus on springtime veggies and summer flowers. Find us outside on the Redwood Shores Branch Library front plaza at 10:30am.

On Monday April 1 at 10am, find librarian Armando at Mezes Park for the return of Stories in the Park! Warmer weather calls for gathering around books and songs with friends. Stories in the Park happens weekly on 1st Mondays at Mezes Park, 2nd Tuesdays at Andrew Spinas Park, 3rd Tuesdays at Jardin de Niños, and with librarian Pam on the 4th Tuesdays at Magical Bridge Playground. Weeks one to three feature bilingual stories!

LOTE4KIDS

Wednesday is World Storytelling Day! Storytelling has been a part of cultures since the beginning of

time. To try new books in languages other than English, try the library's online resource, LOTE4Kids!

NEWS FROM THE FOUNDATION

During Love Your Library month (February), the Redwood City Library Foundation received over 30 “love letters” recognizing customers' favorite things about the library. You can see these love letters here. If you love your library and the services and initiatives it offers, another way to show this is to participate in Library Giving Day on April 3rd.

Library Giving Day is a one-day fundraising event started by the Seattle Public Library Foundation to encourage people who depend on and enjoy public libraries to donate to their individual library systems. Though known for providing books and research materials, libraries also offer many programs that promote lifelong learning, connect patrons to technology and advance our knowledge. Foundation donations support the incredible programs, services and materials provided by local libraries all over the country.

Donations to Redwood City Library Foundation support the Makerspace, and programs like Bridging the Digital Divide, Traveling Storytime and Career Online High School.

To celebrate Library Giving Day and support your library, please donate to the Foundation on April 3: donate here

WE'RE HIRING FOR SUMMER

We may be biased, but we think working for Redwood City Public Library is the perfect summer job! We are happy to announce that we are hiring for our Summer Learning Challenge Internship. We are looking for three enthusiastic high school interns to support our activities both at the libraries and at summer outreach sites throughout the City of Redwood City during the Summer Learning Challenge.

If you know any students looking for a rewarding and fun summer job, please encourage them to apply. Students can apply here
