Gerardo Martinez

Corporate Relations Specialist, Exelon

As the Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy continues to expand from its inaugural launch last summer, our team continues to grow with it!

Gerardo is passionate about volunteering and staying engaged with the community. Last summer, he had the opportunity to support the Exelon Foundation’s inaugural Boys to STEM Academy in Washington, D.C., where he assisted Exelon leadership and helped engage 60 high school boys from across Exelon’s service territories, including Delaware, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and Washington, D.C.

Gerardo has now joined the Exelon team full time where he will work on the Exelon Foundation Boys to STEM Academy and Chris Crane Memorial Scholars Program as a Corporate Relations Specialist.

April is National Volunteer Month!

National Volunteer Month is dedicated to honoring volunteers in our communities and to encourage others to volunteer throughout the month.

The Exelon Foundation STEM Academy and Boys to STEM Academy are proud to recognize our STEM Ambassadors who volunteer year-round!

The STEM Ambassador program gives Academy alumni the tools and training to conduct outreach in their local communities while honing their presentation and organizational skills.

Read below about Ryan Duncan, who was a participant in the 2024 Exelon Foundation STEM Academy and now has remained involved as a STEM Ambassador in her community.

"At The Bryn Mawr School's STEM Career Fair, I had the amazing opportunity to promote the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy to my peers and to lead students through a fun circuit-building activity.

As a STEM Ambassador, I've been trained to facilitate several STEM activities using materials provided by the Exelon Foundation STEM Academy. I chose to teach about Sidekick Circuits, where students create a series circuit with copper tape, lighting up a 2D paper fan. I walked through this activity with many students, ranging from elementary to high school. Throughout this activity, I was able to inform many eager incoming sophomores and juniors about this incredible program. I thoroughly enjoyed sharing my love for STEM with younger students at this event."
