Explore, “A Vatican Astronomers View of Galileo,” with the one and only Chief Astronomer and Director of the Vatican’s Observatory, Brother Guy J. Consolmagno, S. J.! 


Speaking as a Jesuit scientist, Br. Guy will examine how Galileo’s work challenged, and was challenged by the science of the day. 


Members are invited to an exclusive meet-and-greet brunch with Br. Guy before his lecture, which will be followed by a Q&A session. Members can also enjoy a planetarium show and explore the Galileo exhibit.

Speaker Series: Resetting the Battle | March 7 | 6:00pm - 9:00pm



Join us and the Blood Cancer Foundation of Michigan for a FREE speaker event featuring Dr. Jawad Sheqwara, a Hematologist and the Lead Physician for the Henry Ford Health System’s Lymphoma Program, as he explores what the future of cancer treatment may look like.

Spring Break #STEAM Camp | March 26 - 28 | 9:00am - 3:00pm

No plans for spring break? No problem! Join the Institute for our first-ever Spring Break #STEAM Camp. 🧪🧬🔭📚🦠🪐


Explore physics, astronomy, and science innovation with our expert educators and engaging activities! Programming will be different each day and highlight the museum’s experiences to give campers the opportunity to become better design thinkers and efficient problem-solvers. 


Registration is separate for each day and is $110 per day for members and $125 per day for non-members.

This experience is designed for students in grades 1 - 6. Lunch and before and after care will not be provided for campers.

Spring Into Science | March 27 - 30 | 11:00am - 3:00pm

  • Register for Free Third Thursday (March 21), courtesy of the Community Foundation for Southeast Michigan, and enjoy the museum for FREE between 5:00 - 8:00pm. You can also visit the Cranbrook Art Museum for FREE from 11:00am - 8:00pm. Pre-registration is strongly encouraged. Walk-ups are welcome, but due to capacity limits, entrance is not guaranteed. 
  • Experience everything the museum has to offer for only $5 every Friday after 5:00pm! General admission, Galileo exhibition, and Acheson Planetarium tickets will be available for just $5 each.
