UPCOMING: CHILD WATCH RETURNS SATURDAY MORNINGS IN MAY

We have missed our Y kids and families this past year, and so we are excited to announce that beginning in May we will be offering Child Watch on Saturdays from 8:00 a.m. to 11:30 a.m.

In the survey we sent out a couple of months ago, Saturday morning was the only consistent time frame requested, so for this reason we have chosen to start with Saturdays. Children must wear a mask and use sanitizer as they come into the Child Watch area.

The plan is offered for distances of 2 and 4 miles. Interested in running longer distances? David will be glad to guide you through these as well. There is even a parent and child option for those who want to train and race together.

WATER: HOW MUCH, BENEFITS & TIPS FOR DRINKING MORE
A Health & Wellness Coach Moment with Nancy Stocks, NBCHWC
How do you know if you are drinking enough water?

This common question is asked of trainers and health professionals every day. In the past, we were always told to drink 64 oz. a day. Although, that may still be true for some people, studies have shown that it is more accurate to drink anywhere from 1/2 to one ounce per pound of your body weight. For example, if you weigh 150 pounds, that would be from 75-150 oz. of water a day. The individual need for various amounts of water is based on weight, exercise, daily routines, etc. There are so many benefits to water that most do not even know.

Nancy Stocks is now offering Health Coaching sessions in-person, by phone and online. To find out if health coaching is a good fit to help you reach your goals, email Nancy at [email protected].

The tentative date is Sunday, April 25. Supplies will be provided for volunteers. We will send out more information closer to the date.
With your generous donations, the YMCA Jr Board put together 37 Easter baskets last weekend that were delivered to Save-A-Youth.
