Thank you to everyone who came out to the City Council meeting on February 27 to support the City of Steamboat Springs taking climate action. We are thankful that the Council voted unanimously to join the Compact of Colorado Communities

Signing on to the Compact is just the first step, and YVSC looks forward to working with stakeholders, throughout the Yampa Valley, to reduce our carbon footprint and build a resilient and sustainable community. Get Involved in Climate Action

In 2018, YVSC is mobilizing our community around climate action to reduce greenhouse gas emissions AND create a more resilient community in response to current and future climate impacts, such as shorter ski seasons, low snowpack, drought and wildfires. We’re looking forward to new public-private partnerships and expanded citizen involvement on this issue. Get involved through one of YVSC’s campaigns or upcoming events:

Want to learn more about climate change? Watch the video of Professor Scott Denning’s January 23 Talking Green presentation on Climate Change: Simple, Serious, Solvable. Dr. Denning is a dynamic speaker and will give you hope for the future of the climate!
Sign the pledge. More than 650 children and adults have signed YVSC's pledge to reduce their carbon footprint by committing to just two simple actions, such as reusing, recycling, reducing food waste, improving energy efficiency, taking alternative transportation and avoiding single-use stuff.
Join the 100+ local businesses and organizations urging local government to measure and reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve our environmental and economic resilience. Add your business to the growing list!
Volunteer for climate action. Stay tuned for next steps, and let us know if you'd like to get actively involved in local climate action efforts.
Support YVSC with your tax-deductible donation
Joining the Compact for Colorado Communities is just the beginning of local climate action. YVSC is ready to take our community to the next level, but we need your financial support.
