LEAPING INTO SPRING!

Spring is here! We wake up to trees that were just budding days before filled with colorful blossoms. Flowers that were just peeking their heads out of the ground are now in full bloom. Day by day and blossom by blossom, we are reminded that a new season has begun.

The start of a new season is a great time to get involved in your community. With your help, a new season can be a fresh start for someone who needs an opportunity to be successful. A student who needs the help of a mentor to stay on track to graduation or a family that needs financial assistance to get through a rough time and back on their feet. You can be part of this new season in someone's life.

Join United Way of Forsyth County as we work to improve the lives of all our residents.

Giving of your time, talent, and treasure can have a huge impact on the lives of those around you.

Meet Jonathan….Jonathan is a father and husband working two jobs to provide for his family. He has worked for a national grocery store chain for several years and had taken on a second job to provide for his family, but when the pandemic hit suddenly things changed.

Jonathan initially lost work hours at both his jobs. His wife had recently started a job but with their young children now at home learning virtually, she had to be with them. They began to struggle to pay their rent. Jonathan was doing all he could to stay afloat but was falling further and further behind and was facing eviction.

Jonathan reached out to United Way for help. United Way was able to assist him with applying for the Emergency Rental and Utilities Assistance Program through Forsyth County Government. Through this program, he was able to qualify for assistance with his past due rent and utilities giving him a fresh start so that he could once again support his family on his own.
Do you know of anyone, like Jonathan, needing rent and/or utility assistance due to COVID-19 or

Let's Talk About
MENTAL HEALTH
Start the conversation. End the stigma.

The lotus flower symbolizes growing and overcoming obstacles. It offers strength to people struggling in their daily lives. The NEW Mental Health Website is intended to offer that strength by providing resources, information and awareness regarding mental wellness, mental illness and support to improve mental health in Forsyth County.
Mental Health is a key component in our overall health and well-being. Let's be open to talk about mental illness, to reach out for help, and to listen to those in need without judgment. Visit www.mhfocoga.com to learn more.
