Restaurant Week Starts THIS WEEKEND!

We are extremely pleased that Restaurant Week is back for the 2022 Season sponsored by SO RI Magazine.

From March 26 through April 1, 2022, local restaurants will participate with specials and exclusive offers for diners. Newly added to our list of restaurants and eateries is The Pour House.

We recently kicked off the celebrations with our annual Restaurant Week party at The Towers that took place on March 22nd and loved seeing everyone in person to sample some dishes from our local restaurants and some impressive sweets from Job Corps Desserts.

We hope to see you next week enjoying local fare while supporting our passionate businesses!

Friends of Canonchet Use Fun Way to Keep Weeds at Bay

President of Friends of Canonchet, Tom Hoagland, shared the new campaign to help clean up some land near the nature trail.

He shared "If you enter the trail at its midpoint by the South County Museum you will see in front of you a sizable pasture made impassable with invasive vines and shrubs, so much so that our dedicated trail volunteers can't penetrate it. We hope to convert this tangled jungle to a meadow filled with native grasses and wildflowers and the first step is to clear it using hungry goats! It's an exciting prospect but the goat-scaping service is not cheap!  Any funds we raise through this new 401Gives campaign will go to defraying the costs of goat-scaping. (Check out the video by clicking the image.)

I thank you on behalf of the Board and our volunteers for your generosity over the years and I hope you can help us out with our goat-scaping in 2022!"

RI Real Estate's March Artist of the Month

Each month, RI Real Estate Services choose a local artist or artists to spotlight. They share a little more about the artist, how to follow them along their journey, and showcase some of their work in the main offices for that month.

This month, they are featuring the below artist at the Narragansett Office located at 483 Boston Neck Road:

Jessica Hines: Jessica is a Rhode Island native and graduate of Rhode Island School of Design. She taught art to students in grades Pre-K through 8 for 23 years in Catholic Schools, and currently teaches both children and adults at her studio Artful Expressions in Warwick, Rhode Island.

Jessica has always had a passion for art and she attributes her success to having such a supportive family. Her inspiration for most of her work is nature. When she is not teaching or making art, she spends time hiking and exploring the outdoors. Her painting style has evolved over the past few years. Throughout the pandemic her work has become more expressive and abstract. She explores a variety of color and size, and shapes of canvases.
