A Message from the Office of the President:
Dear Little Flower Families –

We are very grateful to the generosity of our donors for us having been able to provide chromebooks to our students and upgraded laptops, cameras and other equipment to our teachers so that we have set the standard for seamless instructional delivery throughout every unusual situation the pandemic offered to us.

Sadly, we are seeing an uptick in broken or damaged chromebooks, lost chargers, and other problems that stem from lack of care for school-issued equipment.

Effective immediately, the following fee schedule is in place for any chromebook or chromebook-related repair:

Updated fee list:
Replacement screen: $100
Replacement charger: $50
Replacement Chromebook (best available from loaner pile): $200

If you have any specific questions, please reach to [email protected].
Please encourage your daughter to handle her chromebook with the utmost care.

Thank you,
Jeane McNamara
Little Flower President, Jeane McNamara, was recently highlighted on instagram for Women's History Month by our Neighbors at North10 Philadelphia!

North10 Philadelphia representatives reached out to Mrs. McNamara last week for a Question and Answer session about her work at Little Flower (you can see their questions featured below). She had the following insight to share with them regarding her commitment to Little Flower's mission of excellence:
Little Flower is happy to offer transportation options to students who may need alternatives to SEPTA each day!

Please fill in the attached survey below if you have interested in our Little Flower van service.
Please note that specific pick-up locations and wider pick-up ranges depend directly on student need!
A Message from the Office of the Principal and Academic Affairs:
CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT SURVEY

As we continually seek to make our schools the premier educational destination for our youth, we need to examine ourselves and look for areas both where we are successful and where we need to improve. Your feedback is critical to our self-reflection process and allows us to forward data to schools to assist in developing improvement plans which capitalize on the successes and address areas of concern.

Help us get better continuously! Please complete the surveys below by April 2

For parents : https://www.research.net/r/aops-pf and your Survey ID is E#211

For your seniors: https://www.research.net/r/aops-cg and your survey ID is E#211

If you have more than one of your children attending an Archdiocese of Philadelphia school, please complete the survey for each school as your experiences at each may be different.

Your responses to this survey are anonymous. To preserve the anonymity of your survey, you need to fill out the entire survey at once: you cannot stop and return to the survey later. The survey should take you no more than 10-15 minutes to complete.
UPDATES FROM THE ACADEMICS AFFAIRS OFFICE
SUMMER LEADERSHIP OPPORTUNITIES

During the summer months, Little Flower will be offering several different academic and orientation programs for freshmen and transferring students. We need conscientious, positive and inspiring young women from our current student body to serve as academic counsellors and mentors during these programs. It is a chance to participate fully in the life of the school as a student leader.

On Thursday, March 25, there will be an informational meeting via Zoom.

If you wish to be interviewed for these positions, you must plan to attend this information session. Mrs. Weber, Mr. Lelii, and Mr. Ickes will be providing a detailed explanation of what is expected from our counsellors. It is a wonderful opportunity to test yourself, to expand your boundaries, and to nourish yourself as a leader of other young women. We need you to make these programs succeed.

We look forward to seeing you on Thursday at 6:00pm!
Come to Saturday School for help of any kind!
March 20
Our school library will be open from 9:00am-12:00pm.

All are welcome! Use this time to study with a friend, review concepts with one of our tutors, or work independently on a project! See it as an opportunity to stay ahead in your studies or review material for a quiz or test.
You can access the NHS Virtual Tutoring by clicking on the link below and enter the passcode "tutor"

A Message from the Guidance Department:
Little Flower Families-

We need your help! Little Flower Catholic High School for Girls has an opportunity for the children who really need extra academic support to receive it through the Title I program under Every Student Succeeds Act, but we cannot do it without YOU! These extra services will only come to the children if you fill out the survey.

In order to determine the funding available for this wonderful program, we must have an accurate count of children from low-income families. I want to assure you that your privacy will be protected and that no names are required on the family survey form. Only addresses and grade levels are provided to your specific school district so that they can determine the funding for the Title I program for the eligible children.

You can complete the survey online by clicking this family survey link.

ATTENTION JUNIOR FAMILIES

The 2021 College Scholars Prep Application is open. This is a summer program for lower income higher achieving students. It often leads to acceptances to some very prestigious universities. The deadline to apply is March 24. More information and application can be found using this link.

ATTENTION SOPHOMORE FAMILIES

Philadelphia Future’s College Connection Program is a comprehensive, individualized, and rigorous college access program serving promising students in Philadelphia’s public, public charter, and parochial high schools beginning in their junior year. This two-year intensive program guides academically prepared students through the college application, admissions, and financial aid processes. As our students matriculate to college, they transition from our College Connection program to our College Success program, which works with them through college completion.

To gain admission to the program, students must complete a comprehensive and holistic application process. For more information about the application process Click this link: College Connections

COLLEGE ACCEPTANCES

Now is the time seniors begin hearing about their college acceptances, if they applied to early action or early decision schools. Also, some colleges, that use rolling admissions, have begun sending acceptances too. Please be sure that you email these acceptance, scholarship and financial award letters to Mrs. Sheridan at [email protected]. We are excited to hear about your accomplishments and it is not too soon to celebrate! We will be collecting award letters throughout the spring.

FINANCIAL AID REMINDER

Don’t forget to apply for financial aid. Colleges build award packages from information submitted on the Free Application for Student Federal Aid (FAFSA). Even if you do not qualify for Federal Aid, your colleges may grant you their own need-based aid. The FAFSA can be completed online using your 2019 tax return information.
