Ever since the Day Light Savings time change on March 12th, I've felt like a bear slowly coming out of hibernation. I've felt a bit lighter, a little more awake, a spring in my step, so to speak. :) With the outside world beginning to awaken and bloom, we too come out of our dark winter holes and awaken to the sunshine and fresh air. I love the longer days and the brighter evenings, to see the flowers and trees budding and blooming and to know warmer days are right around the corner!

Today is officially the first day of spring and I'm ready for it! It's been a looooong, cold and snowy winter. I'm sure I speak for most Coloradans in saying I'm happy we got so much moisture this winter, but I'm also ready for a little less snow and maybe instead we can get more showers to bring those May flowers.

Around our home, we just had a fabulously chill spring break with both boys at home and a little time off to enjoy each other's company. Sometimes it's not about going somewhere exciting but more about the time to just relax and refresh in good company. The boys got a day of snowboarding together, and I got some quality time with the boys on a mom-son day date. Cade has had a busy March turning 16, getting his driver's license and making the Sophomore team for ThunderRidge baseball. We're so excited to watch him play and pitch! So if you are looking for us this spring, you'll find us at the baseball field! Ethan is headed back to Gunnison and is looking forward to finishing up a very hard semester while also working more on his NASA internship before school is over for the summer....good news, it'll be here before we know it!

10 Reasons Spring is so Delightful!

  1. Temperatures are more moderate- not too hot or cold, but just right.
  2. There is more daylight after Daylight Savings Time arrives.
  3. Birds return from their winter vacations to serenade us with their songs.
  4. Baby animals greet the world. Many animals reproduce when temperatures rise and food is plentiful.
  5. We can spend more time outside which improves our mood and memory.
  6. The leaves come out on the trees, flowers begin to bloom, and plants begin to grow.
  7. It's easier to find fresh produce and load up on delicious fruits and veggies to nourish our bodies.
  8. We can take our exercise routine outdoors.
  9. We can open the windows and let in the fresh air.
  10. With more sunlight and the warmer temps, we absorb more vitamin D which is good for our bodies and minds.

Wishing you a healthy, happy and beautiful Spring season!
