This St. Patrick's Day forget the luck of the Irish—find the love of a rescue!
{View as Webpage}
| | | | We never turn our backs on the “hard cases”, and in fact open our arms to them. Our mission is to offer hope and new beginnings to the lost and forgotten, the sick, injured and abandoned animals in our community. We believe every life is worth saving! | | | Not able to adopt a new family member like Itty Bitty above? Consider donating or sponsoring an animal in need. We spend over $100,000 on vetting expenses every year, so every donation helps. Check out some of our events and other ways you can help below. | | |
ANIMAL ADVOCATES
You may have noticed a shift in our presence lately. Castaway Critters is transitioning from silent advocacy to active intervention. We will no longer sit back and merely document the abuse and neglect of animals; we are officially committed to being their legal and moral voice.
Our commitment is simple: Action. We will involve law enforcement in every case of human-inflicted cruelty we encounter. We will pursue these cases through the courts for as long as it takes.
Our resolve is firm—whether it’s the large-scale hoarding case we recently won in Marysville, or the ongoing fight for Winston and Gloria who were killed by a dog who was ordered by his owner to "Get Them". While we continue waiting for Winston and Gloria's day in court, and as the community also reels from the severe abuse of Natasha, we remain undeterred. We will continue to make phone calls, we will continue to show up at Hearings, we will continue to tell their stories.
Some suggested to us that sharing these stories causes "unnecessary alarm." We believe transparency is the only path to safety. By reporting crimes like the ones above and like little Dart who had an actual dart in his head, or the antifreeze poisoning of a cat in Lower Paxton Twp., we empower our communities to stay vigilant. The days of quiet indignation are over. We are watching, we are reporting, and we are fighting for justice.

TWO BIG EVENTS COMING THIS MONTH!
| |
We will be having a Petco Meet & Greet this Saturday, March 7. Come meet Natasha at Petco Harrisburg and witness the incredible progress she’s made in just one month! While she is still on her journey to physical and emotional healing, she is bravely beginning to trust again. To keep her feeling safe, we ask that guests observe from a distance—no petting, hats, or carrying items near her. We’re so excited to show you what love and determination can achieve! Plus, purchase some delicious soup and baked goods while you’re there.

Sick of the snow and those gray, gloomy days? We can't bring back the summer sun just yet, but we can help you get out of the house! Join us for our 2nd Annual Indoor Yard Sale. Last year’s turnout was huge, and this year promises to be just as big. Come browse, stay warm, and find some treasures!
DATES, TIMES AND LOCATIONS OF EVENTS ARE LISTED DOWN BELOW.

CRITTER CUTENESS
Hi! My name is Ziggy and I am a 6-month-old boy. I live with my foster family along with other cats and dogs and I love them all! My life pretty much consists of play, eat, play, nap, play, play, play, play! I am a very easy-going kitten, but it does take me a little while to warm up. I was socialized as a little older of a kitten, but once you break out that wand toy, I am in!
I would do well in a house with other feline friends or canine companions. I am also okay with children, as long as they are respectful of me and my space.

Don't miss a thing! Follow us on Facebook for all the latest news and updates on what we are doing and to see the animals that are waiting for their forever home. Like 4-year-old Oliver who was in a hoarding situation and is a little shy but is very affectionate and loves to sleep with his human. If you are interested, you can fill out an application at www.CastawayCritters.org/adopt.

| | For 25 years, Castaway Critters has been a sanctuary for the forgotten, the fragile, and the brave. Since our journey began in 2001, we have dedicated a quarter-century to answering the calls that others might shy away from—running toward the most difficult cases with open arms and steady hope. From large-scale rescues to the quietest senior souls, our mission has remained unchanged through the decades: to ensure that no animal feels abandoned and that every "castaway" finds their way home. As we celebrate this milestone in 2026, we look back on almost 15,000 lives we transformed and forward to a future where our commitment to love and rescue remains as fierce as it was on day one. | | | | |
