Spring: A Time for Growth and Renewal

Spring has begun with welcome new growth of flowers, trees and lawns. At the InterFaith Leadership Council of Metropolitan Detroit, we are embarked on growth as well—with our new Interfaith Community Values project; planning for a return to in-person Religious Diversity Journeys; and developing new educational programs. In order to make this happen, we need your financial support. Please consider a gift, which will be matched up to $12,500 by our board. We are grateful to all of our past supporters.

Hindu Community Celebrates Special Days in May

On May 3 the Hindu community will commemorate Akshaya Tritiya--the day Goddess Lakshmi, the Goddess of Prosperity blessed Kubera with unending wealth, so that he became the banker of gods. Hindus perform worship to Goddess Lakshmi on this day for prosperity and well-being. May 5th is the birth anniversary of Sankaracharya (900 CE) and Ramanujacharya (1200 CE), who are two of the greatest teachers in Hindu philosophy.
