From Our Trainers
Training Client of the Month!
The Norwell Athletic Club would like to congratulate Quinn Maslowski as the athlete of the month.

Playing baseball at Plymouth North, Quinn's goal was to become a bigger and better athlete. During this off season, he has gained over 30 pounds of muscle (129 to 160 lbs) while maintaining a body fat of 23%. His baseball coach at The Yard noted that his fastball jumped over 5 mph during the past 7 months!

As a program, we pride ourselves at getting our athletes bigger, stronger and faster while keeping them LEAN. Quinn's work ethic along with his dedication to his nutrition has led to him exploding as baseball player.

We here at N.A.C. wish Quinn the best of luck this upcoming season!

Are You Tired Or Are You Toxic?
Join us for a life changing seminar!
Join us April 10th at 10 am for a presentation from a representative from Biotics Research Corporation on these toxins and what they do to our bodies and learn about a 15 day cleanse to detoxify yourself!
Our bodies are designed to push out toxins.. The liver is the key player where detoxication happens in two phases. In phase I, the body’s enzymes activate the toxic substances to make them more accessible for phase II. In phase II, speci c enzymes convert toxins into water-soluble and harmless molecules that are then eliminated. With the proper nutrition, which includes special vitamins, enzymes and minerals, the toxins can be eliminated, allowing the metabolism to run optimally.

When our bodies lack the essential nutritional components for detoxication, the toxins get stored in our tissues and fat cells, and can contribute to many chronic illnesses. Scientists from both the World Health Organization (WHO) and the National Cancer Institute (NCI) indicate that the chemicals in our air, food and water cause between 60-80% of all cancers. Long-term exposure to pollution can result in genetic changes that a ect growth, health and behavior, and contribute to susceptibility to disease.

Proprioceptive – Deep Tendon Reflex (P-DTR®)
is a product of the original thought and investigations of orthopedic surgeon Dr. José Palomar.
This work recognizes that proprioception (sensation of touch, pressure, hot, cold, pain, etc.), and the way the body processes the information from these receptors, is paramount in determining neuromuscular responses throughout the entire body. Motor function is not just determined by the motor system, but rather is modified by the inputs of these receptors.
Using a comprehensive system of muscle testing and neural challenges, involved receptors can be located and normal function can be quickly restored. Most physical therapy and other therapeutic modalities deal with the “hardware” of the body, neglecting the fact that much of the pain and dysfunction we experience is often actually a problem with our “software”.

A Classical Pilates Studio!
Classical Pilates is the original work designed by Joseph and Clara Pilates with little or no deviation. This traditional order recruits specific muscle firing patterns over and over challenging the body’s movement by changing the center of gravity and the surface stability.
This systematic approach allows significant changes to happen to the body and creates strength quickly. “Contemporary” methods have no order and often change the goal or purpose of the exercises and in turn compromise the integrity of the original work. There are many variations of Pilates in the market today. All are Pilates based, but only the classical work is truly Pilates and has stood the test of time.

P ure Pilates would like to offer all NAC members who have never tried Pilates a complimentary 30-minute Reformer session.

Stop by the front desk or contact Ann Rein to schedule your appointment.
