Argentina Foods

Although known worldwide as Argentina’s famous dish, the origin of chimichurri is unknown. First, many linguists say "chimichurri" was derived from Basque’s tximitxurri, pronounced chee-mee-CHOO-ree, which means ‘a mix of several things in no special order.’ Another story claims chimichurri comes from "Jimmy’s curry" with Jimmy being an Englishman who joined the fight for Argentine Independence. His name was difficult for Argentines to pronounce so it morphed into "chimichurri." Lastly, Chef Staffan Terje believes chimichurri is identical to Sicily’s salmoriglio sauce which is served mainly on seafood. Visit the link below for a traditional chimichurri recipe!

The annual SHINE® St. Petersburg Mural Festival illuminates the power of art in public spaces by revitalizing areas, inspiring dialogue, and uniting our community—while cultivating new standards of artistic excellence reflecting St. Petersburg's creative and vibrant spirit.

The SHINE FESTIVAL 2021

Produced by the St. Petersburg Arts Alliance, SHINE has created more than 100 murals throughout downtown and the surrounding arts districts since 2015. The event is held every October. So get your travel reservations in now for 2022. The area is filled with many activities and cultural expriences besides the beach. Jason Harvin

Based out of: Tampa Bay

Born & raised in Germany while his parents served in the military and worked for the US Government, Jason Harvin moved to Florida in 2004 after graduating high school. A UCF graduate in 2008, Jason started painting in 2018 as a creative outlet during a difficult time and it quickly grew into starting his own business as Wayward Walls & Interiors. With painting still technically a “side hustle,” Jason spent his days as a Systems Project Manager for new hotels at Oracle Corp. where he’s worked since 2009. Chad Mize

Chad Mize is a multimedia artist, designer and muralist residing in St. Petersburg, Florida. He was born in New Orleans, Louisiana in 1974, and then moved to Tampa Bay Florida, where he spent most of his childhood. An early interest in art resulted in his earning a BFA in Visual Communications at the University of Mississippi.

As the threat posed by COVID-19 continues to decrease and the measures in place to halt its spread are gradually lifted, we can start to rejoice over calendars of events that are looking much like those we used to enjoy without a second thought. (See the schedule below)
