Greetings and blessings to all who reads this letter.

Happy Easter from Safe Harbor of Memphis! As we come to the end of the first quarter at Safe Harbor of Memphis, I am proud to say that we house 53 residents and have 45 working full time jobs at our various partners.

I'm using this letter to count the many blessings we are having here at Safe Harbor of Memphis. The first and foremost is the opening of our new facility. In the future months we are proudly going to be serving the clients of Safe Harbor of Memphis at a new location in Brighton, Tn. We are looking forward to the move from the inter city to a rural setting.

I would also like to thank Pastors Roy & Trina Ewing from Threefold Cord Marriage & Family Ministries  and their congregation for all the hygiene donations, gift bags, food, and most of all the time and energy to minister to our guys!

Safe Harbor of Tipton County is set to open June 1, 2021. Our new facility is located on a 20 acre campus, which was built in 1905 as Dunlap Orphanage. One of the founders of the orphanage said that they wanted to build a place to see little hands discover what God has for them. We are proud to continue that vision as an orphanage, the only difference is the hands are bigger!

We will be able to house 74 men in our Safe Harbor of Tipton County Program and 16 women in our Fresh Start Program at the new property in Brighton, TN. This campus will also house our Administrative Offices. We are so excited to be able to expand to this beautiful location and continue the work of Safe Harbor that was started over 25 years ago.

We want to continue to shine the Light of Jesus into the darkness of this world to see these now bigger hands discover the freedom and life God has for them! God’s ways are higher than our ways; His thoughts are higher than our thoughts. It’s overwhelming to think back to every step He ordered for this moment. We give Him glory, Amen!

"A short summary of how I came to Safe Harbor... I was working and drinking away my entire check every week. I realized drinking would kill me, if I continued. I came to Safe Harbor seeking help, through the six month program, I was given the tools to want more for myself. I learned to trust God (my higher power) and to know I'm powerless over my addiction.

Safe Harbor has an Intensive Out Patient program for three of the 6 months. It teaches you how to recognize triggers and how to cope with them and also how to deal with anger problems.

I'm grateful to God, forgiven me a new life in recovery."
