April Showers are Cozy in a New Home! Let us Help you get started!!
|
|
|
The best financial planning starts with a PLAN!
|
Are you still thinking about buying your dream home in 2019? Below are a few steps to help you get moving in the right direction of becoming a homeowner this year.
- Boost your credit score - this will help you obtain a lower interest rate. This will allow a lower mortgage payment.
- Save money for a down payment - a bigger down payment provides a smaller mortgage and lower monthly payments.
- Please call GSB Mortgage at 817/310-1980 or at gsbmtg.com
Or, maybe you are thinking about selling your current home in 2019...If so, here are a few planning steps to begin the preparation of listing your home for sale:
- Call GSB Mortgage at 817/310-1980 to discuss comparative market expectations.
- De-Clutter your storage and living space.
- Assess your home's condition and make a list of necessary repairs.
"Professional Values, Mortgage Solutions", GSB Mortgage, Inc. is a full-service mortgage banking company that prides itself in providing the highest quality of mortgage lending services to our customers.

Visiting Stipes Elementary
|
On April 11, Shayla Baker
(Branch Manager, Beltline) and Sara Ledezma
(Asst. Branch Manager, Irving Blvd) went to Stipes Elementary School in Irving to teach the entire class of 97 3rd Graders about savings and budgets.
They gave out piggy banks filled with candy to the kids who answered questions, and everyone received a $1 coin, too!
They will return on April 17 to do the same presentation for 150 5th Graders.
If you're interested in having us come to your school or organization please contact

The Case of the Fake IRS Calls
|
We've all gotten those awful robo-calls on our cell phones. They're always from an unrecognized number, or a phone number that's missing a digit or two, or from areas of the US where you don't know anyone, or occasionally from a phone number with your area code and prefix. They always want to sell you something or give you a free cruise or want you to donate money to their Very Worthy Cause. However, there is one type of robo-call that our Mr. Sneaky P Shenanigans really enjoys placing: The Fake IRS Call.
Fake IRS Phone Scam calls are terrifying because no one wants to find out that they suddenly
owe the government more money. And when they even hint at a lawsuit or potential jail time that just adds to the fear.
However, you can rest assured of these things that the IRS will never do:
- Initiate a phone call. Most of their contact is done via the USPS and if they do call you will receive a notice in the mail first.
- Call to demand immediate payment or to discuss taxes owed without having first mailed you a bill or to give you the opportunity to question or appeal the amount owed.
- Ask you for your personal information like a Social Security number, or your credit or debit card numbers over the phone.
- Require you to use a specific method to pay for these taxes, such as a prepaid debit card or wire transfer.
- Threaten to bring in local police, the FBI or your mother to have you arrested for not paying.
Also, please remember that the IRS does not use unsolicited email, text messages or any social media platform to discuss your personal tax issues.
If you do receive one of these phone calls, then this is what you need to do:
- Hang up immediately.
- If you know that you owe taxes or you think that you might owe, call the IRS at 1.800.829.1040. The IRS is more than happy to work with you on a payment plan.
- If you know that you do NOT owe taxes, or have no reason to believe that you do, then report the incident to the Treasury Inspector General for Tax Administration (TIGTA) at 1.800.366.4484 or at www.tigta.gov
- You can file a complaint using the FTC Complaint Assistant; choose "Other" and then "Impostor Scams." If the complaint involves someone impersonating the IRS, include the words "IRS Telephone Scam" in the notes.
