The front desk at Second Home Pet Resort can be pretty busy, and Dawn Marchenko, Client Service Specialist, loves it, checking in and checking out guests. “For boarding guests, we make sure to have all parents’ instructions correct including feeding, medications, and any extra activities,” she said. “We do a lot of tours. Our facility is nice, and it makes me proud to show it off.”
Born and raised on an Indiana farm, Dawn had various animals. “I grew up with a love for animals and it’s been with me my whole life,” she said, adding that she has three cats.

The rescue aspect of Second Home is near and dear to Dawn’s heart and what initially attracted her when she started in August 2018. “It’s the absolute best thing seeing rescues go to a home,” she said.
“This is the best place I’ve ever worked,” Dawn said. “The care, attentiveness and cleanliness of the facility really makes me proud.”
