Replacement Civic Centre – Now open!
The replacement Civic Centre is now open, providing a modern, fully accessible space to access Town services. The new building features improved customer service areas, enhanced Council Chambers and welcoming indoor and outdoor gathering spaces designed to better serve residents.
Residents can access the Service Georgina desk on the main floor where a wide range of services are available. There is also a Development Services desk located on the second floor, where residents can access services related to building and planning.

Georgina Cup Pickleball Tournament
Calling all pickleball enthusiasts. Get ready to serve up some fun at the Georgina Cup Pickleball Tournament on Sunday, May 3, 2026, from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the Multi-Use Recreation Complex (MURC). Showcase your skills in multiple divisions, including men's, women's, mixed and 55+. The entry fee is $50 per participant for entry into one division or $75 per participant for entry into two divisions (maximum two). Secure your spot by registering in person at the MURC.

Kitten season is here!
Warmer weather means kitten season is underway. The Georgina Animal Shelter typically sees an increase in pregnant cats and litters of kittens needing care from March through November. Residents who find kittens are encouraged to contact Animal Services for guidance to help ensure their safety. Residents interested in adopting or fostering are encouraged to watch the Town’s website and social media for updates. Dirt bikes
Dirt biking can be fun, but it’s not permitted on Town roads, parks, trails or highways in Georgina. Violations may lead to fines and other enforcement action. Nominations and voting
Are you interested in becoming a candidate for the 2026 Municipal Election? The nomination period opens May 1. Candidates can file a nomination for an office on Georgina Town Council or as a school board trustee by appointment between 9 a.m. and 3 p.m. from Monday to Friday. Voting Day is Monday, Oct. 26, 2026. More information about the 2026 Municipal Election can be found at georgina.ca/election.

Information sessions for potential candidates
In-person and online information sessions are being hosted by the Town of East Gwillimbury on behalf of the Ministry of Municipal Affairs and Housing. These sessions are being offered for anyone considering becoming a candidate as well as anyone that may have participated in previous elections. Participation is free.
- Monday, April 13 at 2 p.m.
- Thursday, April 23 at 7 p.m.
Sessions can be attended in person at the Town of East Gwillimbury Civic Centre, 19000 Leslie St., Sharon, or online via YouTube.

Election sign bylaw
On April 1, 2026, Council received a briefing note regarding the election sign bylaw update. The bylaw now allows election signs to be permitted after a candidate has filed their nomination and are certified by the Town Clerk, or in the case of a registered third party, after they are registered with the Town Clerk. Therefore, election signs can be placed as early as 4 p.m. on the Monday following Nomination Day. Nomination Day (as defined in the Municipal Elections Act) is the final day that nominations can be filed, which is Friday, Aug. 21, 2026 at 2 p.m. The Clerk must certify all nominations by 4 p.m. on Monday, Aug. 24, so signs can be placed as early as Aug. 24 at 4 p.m.
