Our school garden is coming along!
Earlier this week we built the first couple of garden beds for our new school garden thanks to the help of our friends at the Asheville Farmstead School. We can't wait to begin planting and watching everything grow! The hands-on learning that happens in the garden will be supported with additional lessons, books, and toys in the classrooms. In the meantime, while we wait for planting to begin, the kids will be looking out through their "birdnoculars" for birds visiting the new bird houses we put up on campus.

This article explains why gardening and outdoor learning can be such enriching experiences for children during their early childhood education.
