"PRISMA is unique in a way that it really concentrates on orchestral experience for the students; the vibe is laid-back, yet always busy... Also, the wall between teachers and students is very low, almost non-existent. Beyond knowledge, there is a lot to pass on that is important in life and as a human being. PRISMA is particularly nurturing in this aspect."
– Edwin Sungpil Kim, PRISMA 2015/16/17 Faculty

Want to get better acquainted with PRISMA students? Why not host one in your home?
With our move towards free tuition for as many students as possible with the Musical Merit Scholarship Fund, we need more homestay hosts than ever! Our students come to Powell River from all over the world, and the community of Powell River is frequently cited as one of their favourite parts of the festival. If you're interested in billeting a student or two or have any questions, please contact:

Here's what homestay hosts Madeleine and Fraser said about their experience hosting PRISMA students for the last couple seasons:
"Hosting a PRISMA home stay student is easy. The students are mature and look after themselves, and PRISMA provides their lunches and dinners. Just breakfast and a ride to and from the Complex needed. The benefits? Beautiful music in the house, meeting some of these talented young people, and helping PRISMA – win-win!"
