Announcements for Students
Springboro High School Students and Parents,
We have completed two full weeks of e-learning and now have a week of spring break to relax and enjoy family. For the weeks of April 14-May 1, we will continue with the same schedule that is below, and students should continue to use their google classrooms/teacher webpages for instruction.
Instructional Expectations: April 14 - May 1
Instructional Expectations/Schedule:
- Content will be delivered following the schedule below:
- Monday and Wednesday: English, Social Studies, and International Language
- Tuesday and Thursday: Math and Science
- Tuesday and Friday: All Electives (Arts, Music, PE, Health, Biomedical Science, Public Speaking, etc.
Google Classroom/Teacher Webpage/Email:
- Teachers will be utilizing their Google Classroom and teacher webpage as their main source of providing instruction.
- Students must check their school email often. Students are encouraged to communicate via email with their teachers regarding any questions they may have.
Office Hours:
- All teachers will have scheduled office hours. These office hours will be a total of 3 hours per day. These 3 hours are for teachers to answer parent and student questions via email, phone, or video chat.
- Office hours will be posted on teachers Google Classroom, teacher webpage (if applicable), and Progress Book.
- These 3 hours can change based on a teachers availability. Any changes will be communicated via the sources listed above.
Grading and Progressbook:
- Grades will be available in Progressbook. It is important students and parents monitor their grades for all assessments using this source.
All of these plans are subject to change based upon further guidance/directives through Governor Dewine’s Office, Ohio Department of Health, and/or Ohio Department of Education.
Online Learning Expectations:
As we move to digital and online learning for the next few weeks, I wanted to remind everyone of the districts expectation for student technology use. Please review the expectations
here
as it is extremely important these
expectations
are followed.
Graduation Update:
As of now Graduation is still on the calendar for Saturday, May 23, 2:00pm, at the Nutter Center. If Graduation has to be postponed, then we have a back up date of Saturday, June 27, 2:00pm, at the Nutter Center. As you know, we must follow the mandates of the Governor.
These two dates and structure of Graduation could be changed at any time.
We cherish this moment for our students and parents, and will do our best to hold Graduation. Please keep all of this in mind when thinking about summer plans.
Guidance:
Counselors are available throughout the school day hours (7:15am-2:25pm) to communicate with students and parents via email. Please reach out with any questions or concerns you may have. If you have specific questions regarding an academic class/lesson, please reach out to the teacher of the class. We understand this is a difficult time for families. We are here to support you in any way that we can. Please continue to check the Guidance webpage and twitter @Boro_Counelors account for updates!
AP Testing:
Important notes:
- For the 2019–20 exam administration only, students can take a 45-minute online exam at home.
- Traditional face-to-face exam administrations will not take place.
- To be fair to all students, some of whom have lost more instructional time than others, the exam will only include topics and skills most AP teachers and students have already covered in class by early March. Please contact your AP teacher for specific content that will be covered on the test.
Please visit the following website for an important update on AP Testing for the 2019-2020 school year:

Springboro Police Department App:
In addition to numerous safety/security measures conducted within the district, Springboro Schools would like to remind the public that the Springboro Police Department has an App for smartphones that could be used as another measure to keep our students safe.
The App has many functionalities, including receiving safety alerts, viewing press releases on criminal activity in the area, general public safety information, etc.
However, the one function students and parents might be most interested in is the "School Crime/Tip" button whereby anyone can
anonymously
send a message to our School Resource Officers to alert them to any known or suspected criminal activity that is occurring or planned at our schools. Simply tap that button and send a message directly to the police (You can also use that function to call the Police Department, as well).
The App can be downloaded from the Google Play Store or Apple iTunes by simply searching, "Springboro Police Department."
