Father and son duo, Richard and Corey Johnson, work in their field in Illinois. Two of our five investments in the first quarter were purchase leases for the Johnson family. | |
Dear Iroquois Valley Investors & Stakeholders,
Iroquois Valley has had a tremendous start to 2024, closing five deals and investing over $6 million in organic and transitioning farmers and ranchers. Q2 has been active and we have a pipeline of more than $25 million investment opportunities that the team is working diligently to close to begin the organic transition this year. For more information about changes to our portfolio over the last quarter, please see below. Our entire Key Operating and Financial Statistics presentation, in addition to all of our marketing materials, can be found on our website.
In the first quarter, we added 18 new investor relationships, and we raised more than $2 million. Our fundraising momentum continues, as we hosted an investor webinar in early April, featuring two of our farmer partners that included a discussion about building water resilience in organic and regenerative farming systems. Please check out the recording available at the link above and RSVP for our June webinar below.
The Board and Staff met in late February for an in-person gathering in Chicago. We left with lots of enthusiasm about the strategic direction of the Company – all bound together by our unwavering commitment to transform agriculture through organic land stewardship in the United States.

We are excited to announce that our next investor webinar will be on Monday, June 17th at 12:00pm Central Time. This webinar will feature our friends at Organic Farming Research Foundation (OFRF) and will center around their newly released “Organic is Regenerative Toolkit”. The team at OFRF developed this toolkit to help organic advocates clearly articulate the benefits of organic farming systems. “Organic agriculture shares many of the same principles and goals of regenerative farming, and it has a clear legal definition grounded in principles that collaborate with nature, foster healthy soil, and contribute to clean water, biodiversity, and thriving farm communities” (OFRF).
You can read more about their work and download the toolkit here! The OFRF team will share some of the resources available in the toolkit and dive into how and why organic is the original climate-smart agriculture, with plenty of time for questions. Please register here for the webinar, and submit any questions in advance to coordinator@iroquoisvalleyfarms.com. We will also take questions during the webinar using Zoom's Q&A feature. We hope you can join us!

Chehalis Valley Farms Old-Fashioned Lard Soap |
Our team began crafting this newsletter on the heels of a visit to one of our portfolio farms in Washington, Chehalis Valley Farms. We left the farm store with a bag full of their wildly popular old-fashioned lard soap. Handcrafted on the farm, this old-fashioned lard soap is made from forest-raised pork lard and grass-fed and finished beef tallow. Lard is similar to our skin’s natural oils, and makes for a hard bar of soap with a nice light lather that is mild and moisturizing to the skin. We couldn’t resist sharing this treasure with you all! Ready to experience this farm-fresh delight? Grab some for yourself here. We’re excited to hear what you think!

CONNECTING FARMERS, COMMUNITIES, AND INVESTORS SINCE 2007
As a corporate guideline, we do not look for specific farmland to purchase or finance. We develop relationships with farmers who want to grow their businesses. We move forward when we have a ready, willing, and able farmer.
