Harold Edwards Named One of the Region's Most Influential Leaders

We’re proud to share that Harold Edwards, President & CEO of Limoneira, has been recognized as one of the 50 Most Influential People in the Region by the Pacific Coast Business Times. This well-deserved recognition highlights his leadership in agriculture, real estate development, and community outreach.

Under Harold’s guidance, Limoneira has continued to grow as a 132-year-old international agribusiness, expanding its citrus operations, real estate ventures, and sustainability initiatives. With a strong background in global agribusiness and finance, he has helped position Limoneira as a leader in the industry.

Beyond business, Harold is actively involved in supporting economic development and fostering growth within the community. His leadership continues to drive Limoneira’s success and commitment to sustainable growth.

Board Member Spotlight

This month, we’re proud to highlight Gordon E. Kimball, a valued member of Limoneira’s Board of Directors since 1995. With a background in engineering and agriculture, Gordon brings a unique perspective to our leadership team.

As President of Kimball Engineering, Inc., he has provided race car design and production services since 1994. His impressive career includes designing Formula One race cars for McLaren, Ferrari, and Benetton Racing, as well as working on Indianapolis race cars for top teams.

Beyond engineering, Gordon is the managing partner of Kimball Ranches, a 150-acre avocado ranch near Santa Paula. His hands-on experience as a grower provides valuable insight into sustainable farming, water conservation, and industry trends, helping guide Limoneira’s long-term strategy.

He also serves on the United Water Conservation District Board and the Fillmore and Piru Basins Groundwater Sustainability Agency, reinforcing his commitment to responsible land and water management.

With his diverse expertise in engineering, business operations, and agriculture, Gordon plays an essential role in shaping Limoneira’s future. We appreciate his leadership and dedication to innovation and sustainability!

Limoneira is excited to attend Southern Exposure 2025, hosted by the Southeast Produce Council, taking place March 6-8, 2025, in Orlando, Florida.

This year’s theme embraces the warm and inclusive spirit of Hawaii, celebrating the deep connections within the produce industry. With a focus on connection, innovation, and education, this event provides an opportunity to engage with industry leaders and explore the latest trends in fresh produce.

Recipe of the Month

The days are getting brighter, and so is your breakfast! Picture this: You wake up to sunshine streaming through the window, birds chirping, coffee brewing, and on the table? A warm slice of Lemon Blueberry Breakfast Bread—the perfect way to bring a little springtime energy to your morning!

Bursting with fresh-squeezed Limoneira® lemon juice, juicy blueberries, and a light lemon glaze, this sweet and zesty loaf is guaranteed to add a berry good start to your day. Because let’s be honest—mornings are just better when there’s cake involved.

Ingredients:

🍋 1½ cups all-purpose flour

🫐 1 teaspoon baking powder

🍋 ½ teaspoon salt

🫐 ½ cup white granulated sugar

🍋 2 large eggs

🫐 ½ cup milk

🍋 ½ cup canola oil

🫐 2 tablespoons fresh-squeezed Limoneira® lemon juice

🍋 1 tablespoon Limoneira® lemon zest

🫐 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

🍋 3/4 cup blueberries

For the glaze:

🍋 1 teaspoon fresh-squeezed Limoneira® lemon juice

🫐 ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions:

1. Preheat oven to 350º F. Line bread pan with oil or parchment paper.
2. Mix the canola oil (or melted coconut oil) and sugar with a hand mixer or in a mixing bowl until blended well. Add the lemon zest, lemon juice, vanilla extract and eggs and milk in and mix.
3. In a separate bowl mix flour, baking powder, salt with a whisk. Slowly add it into the wet mix bowl. Add in blueberries and fold gently with a spatula or wooden spoon.
4. Pour into loaf pan, make sure mixture is evenly spread. You can add a few more blueberries to the top if desired. Cook for about 40-45 minutes or until top is lightly browned. Check with a toothpick to be sure the middle is cooked. Toothpick should come out clean.

For the lemon glaze:

1. Add the juice into a small bowl with powdered sugar. Mix with a whisk until it's evenly mixed and thick enough to glaze. You may need a little more powdered sugar or a little more lemon juice. Continue to add 1/2 tsp of lemon if too thick. It can be a little finicky but have some patience until the perfect consistency happens.
2. Once bread is completely cooled, drizzle glaze slowly and let it harden a bit before cutting into. Add extra lemon zest to the top!

So grab a slice, soak up the sunshine, and make your morning a little sweeter.
