Springing Into Travel
In the April Newsletter, we discussed our Hawaii travel plans. Yes, we had to wear a mask on our Hawaiian Airlines flights, but not once we left the airport. We traveled all over Kona and Hilo, and only at our hotel in Hilo were masks required. As we reported, Hawaii has dropped all pre-arrival testing requirements, so the travel planning was quite easy. Hawaii is always fun to visit, and we were excited to be there.
Since that trip, the CDC has removed the airline mask mandate though the rules vary among airlines and those rules are in constant flux. We will help guide you through the ever-changing maze.
The airlines, in general, are a mess—cancelations and delays are rampant. As always, some airlines are worse than others, so contact us before planning any air travel; we will advise you on our personal airline experiences, those of our clients, and we’ll help steer you away from the most problematic airlines.
In major news, the CDC has dropped cruising from its travel advisory allowing “travelers to make their own risk assessment when choosing to travel on a cruise ship, much like in all other travel settings.” Finally!!!

For land travel, the CDC has removed 89 countries from the Level 4—Do Not Travel list pointing to the improved Covid-19 status throughout most of the world.

Just announced: Royal Caribbean offers a new way to pay IF you book with a travel agent. It’s called Flex-Pay allowing you to make up to 10 automatic payments with no interest charges. Contact us if you want to know more.
Princess Medallion Class: We will be on a Princess cruise when this newsletter is distributed, and we’ll have an opportunity to test the Medallion. We are now “Ocean Ready” in the Medallion App, so we’ll be in the Green Lane for boarding. More next month.
We are witnessing a tremendous surge in travel both on land and at sea: Virgin Voyages has two new ships with another on the way, Cunard will soon be launching the Queen Anne, and we have reported on new ships with Celebrity, Royal Caribbean and Princess…
