Still closed, folks.
Hope springs eternal!

I love spring. It's a time of renewal and hope. This year, it is also a time of great challenge for all of us, but hope remains. This is a star magnolia tree near my condo. There's a small park in the center of the complex with pink magnolia trees blooming, too. Just beautiful.

I know it's hard to stay at home, stay inside, not get out and do the fun things you're used to doing in the first spring sunshine and warmer days. But this year it's really important that we all hunker down, maintain distances from others, wash hands a lot, and basically hibernate.

By now, you're surely aware of the governor's order to stay home and stay safe . While it doesn't explicitly mandate that shops like mine remain closed, just that we control the number of people in the shop at one time and maintain distances. That's really hard to do in a small shop where touching things is part of the shopping experience. So for your health as well as mine, the shop remains closed. I have no idea how long this will go on. A lot of that timeline depends on how well we all comply with the governor's order.

But just because I'm not at the shop doesn't mean I'm not working! The website has a " Shop Now " section with a few things listed that I can ship to you from home. That's really a small stop-gap. I'm in the process of setting up an operational online presence. Not everything will be listed there -- I have a lot of inventory -- but there will be some things you might like. So stay tuned for that.

If you would like something in particular, just let me know. The shop phone is forwarding to my cell phone, so you can call me and tell me what you're after. Or you can send email and we can work from that. When I have several things that people want, I'll head to the shop to pick them up and get them to you. We can even set up a time for online personal shopper service via FaceTime or instant messaging.

If you special ordered something , we are doing what we can to get it in and to you. For yarn coming from larger companies, that's not a problem; they're shipping to me here at home and then I can send it along to you. Yarns from indie dyers, though, will be delayed a while because we're all hunkered down a bit. Your order is in the computer, so we won't misplace it and we'll get it to you ASAP. Thank you for your patience!

I'm feeling fine and I live alone, so it's pretty easy to stay safe. I hope you and yours are all doing well.

We will get through this and, like spring, will bloom and grow!

Cindy
