New Commercial Development at Ballpark Way!

The next phase of commercial development along Ballpark Way is underway! Two buildings are under construction on Lots 1 & 1A as shown on the site plan above.

 

This includes a multi-tenant building under construction at 1A Ballpark Way. Being developed by the Dalon Development Group, the building is just over 4,900 SF and will consist of 3 commercial/retail units (CRUs) and anchored by a Tim Hortons restaurant. A Firehouse Subs is also moving in, with the third 1,098 SF unit currently available for lease. Tenants are expected to open in early 2026.


Directly to the west at 1 Ballpark Way along Pioneer Road, a 5,300 SF multi-tenant building is under development. A new dental clinic will be locating into the west end unit with the remaining space designated for future medical or retail tenants. Currently, there is 3,100 SF remaining for lease. Tenants are expected to open early 2026.

2025 SMARTSTART WORKSHOPS

The City of Spruce Grove hosted three more SMARTstart workshops for our 2025 cohort of 34 small business entrepreneurs and mentors.


Workshops included: Mentors Only on July 3 facilitated by Womanition; Cyber Security on July 10 facilitated by Blue Shield Cyber Protection; and Financial Tools & Reports on July 24 facilitated by Seal + Co.

NEWS

Only 2 lots remain in the City-owned 18-acre South Century Industrial Park. These fully-serviced industrial lots, including fibre optic connectivity, are located at Century Close (just east of the Public Works site).

Spruce Grove’s Community Outreach Team supports vulnerable individuals by engaging with local businesses to help them manage challenging situations with care and compassion. Stay informed with the video series.

To help keep both building sites and the community clean, builders are required to follow the Community Standards Bylaw (C-1312-24) which outlines construction waste management and building material storage practices. Learn more about building site cleanliness.

The Government of Alberta's Canada-Alberta Productivity Grant allows eligible employers to receive government funding to help employees and unemployed Albertans access training opportunities. The program is currently closed, but will re-open in fall 2025.

EVENTS

The City Centre Business Association is hosting its last Summer at the Centre night market on August 16 from 4–10 pm in the Spruce Grove City Centre. This FREE event offers live music, cultural entertainment, 85+ local vendors, a wide range of food trucks, beer gardens (18+), family-friendly fun, and a vibrant community atmosphere.

The Spruce Grove and District Agricultural Society is hosting Agra Fair 2025 on August 23-24 for a weekend filled with family-friendly fun to celebrate their agricultural roots and vibrant community spirit in the heart of Spruce Grove, at the Agrena, and Central Park. This event features a bench show, a parade, a vendor market, a car show, and food trucks.

With the shared micro-mobility e-scooter and e-bike program again underway in Spruce Grove, Bird Canada is offering one last safety seminar on August 26 at noon at Jubilee Park, where a small test track will be available for attendees to try out the vehicles in a safe and guided environment.

The Greater Parkland Regional Chamber of Commerce is hosting their 2025 Tri-Region Expo on September 20 & 21 at the TransAlta Tri-Leisure Centre. This event features cutting-edge innovations, local treasures, and networking opportunities with a variety of exhibitors.
