The 2020 Fund was established in 2000 by Squash BC to help protect the future of squash in British Columbia. As funding from government and other sources becomes less predictable, it is important to find alternative ways to ensure a sound financial future for the sport of squash. The income accumulated through the 2020 Fund is used to promote the growth of the game through the development of junior squash. By establishing a vibrant and well-financed junior program, Squash BC will take a major step toward a successful future for the sport in this province. To donate to the 2020 Fund, click here.

Summer Fun!
Doug Hawkes

This is the 5th annual Cedar Hill Summer Tournament Event. We wanted to make it something special and different and thought it would be good to give the Juniors their opportunity to run an event. They are in charge and giving back to all the people that have helped them through the years. Draws of 8 people based on squash BC rankings. 1 match Friday and 2 matches on Saturday. Saturday afternoon there is a BBQ outside court 4 on the grass area put on by the club.

Doug Hawkes was a devoted player, tournament organizer and passionate advocate for Squash development in Victoria from 1960 through to the 1980's. During that time, Doug mentored a number of local Junior players and it was fitting after his death in 2005 at the age of 82, that a fund benefitting Junior Development at his home club be established in Doug's name.

Net Proceeds of this event will be used to help perpetuate the Doug Hawkes fund for the benefit of aspiring young Squash players at Cedar Hill.

The cost to play is $30.00  --

Correction to April 18, 2019 Newsletter
In the article " BC Juniors bring home three national titles & multiple medals", Kamran Gwadry was quoted in thanking his dad.
In fact, the quote was from BU11 winner, Mohamed Elserafy from the Edmonton Squash Club. His full quote was: "It felt unreal to win and I didn't believe it.  I felt like it was too good to be true," said Boys U11 Champion Mohamed Elserafy.  "I want to thank my Dad Ibrahim who coaches me and for getting me to where I am."
We apologize for the error.
