50th 
Anniversary Tournament at Evergreen
Evergreen Squash Club is hosting a terrific event to celebrate their 50th anniversary as a squash club in North Vancouver. Evergreen Head Squash Pro, Thomas Brinkman has announced an Invitational Professional Doubles Event the weekend of February 2-4. This will be the first Pro Doubles Event in Vancouver since 2011. Brinkman, who made it to the championship round of the World Doubles Championships in St Louis in September is thrilled with the line-up for this prestigious tournament: "We have 8 doubles professionals coming to Evergreen including Jonathon Power, Viktor Berg, Justin Todd and Will Mariani". This will be a terrific opportunity for squash fans to see Jonathan Power in action in Vancouver for the first time in many years.  

There is also a companion singles events that includes A,B,C and D categories as well as masters age categories and a Junior Draw. Entry deadline is January 26. 


BC University Championships
The best university & college players will be competing in the BC University Championships at University of Victoria February 2-4.  First and second place winners of both the Men's & Women's events will receive funding to the Canadian University Championships in Montreal in March. Pathways Events
The Squash BC Junior Pathway Program continues to grow new young squash players in the province. The program is designed primarily for beginner and novice athletes leading up eventually to provincial competitive play. It is designed to encourage a more inclusive and enjoyable approach to competition.

This is a terrific way to introduce young people to the game of squash. There are two Developing Pathways events planned for February at Vancouver Racquet Club on Feb 3 & at the Bentall Centre Athletic Club on February 25.

Coaching Foundations Course at Bentall Centre Athletic Club
If you know of someone interested in becoming a certified squash coach, your next opportunity to begin the process is March 16-18. Squash BC will be hosting a Foundations Coaching Course, (1st step in coaching certification,) at Bentall Centre Athletic Club in Vancouver. Andrew Lynn will be the course facilitator and the course will be a total of 16 hours starting on the Friday night 6 pm for a couple hours, then beginning Saturday and Sunday mornings at 9 am To sign up today, Click Here for a link to the Squash BC website.


Provincial Team & Regional Team Coaches
Each season Squash BC selects a Provincial Training Squad and one or more Regional Training Squads to give our best young squash players the opportunity for additional coaching. If you are a certified coach interested in hosting a weekend training session for one of these squads, contact Squash BC for more details.
